Government To Import Eggs

Government has decided to import Eggs in view of reducing the rising Prices of Eggs in the local  market .The Cabinet had given it's approval to import eggs proposed by the Minister of Trade Nalin Fernando .Government has decided to call international tenders to import   eggs from Next Monday (09).Proven Health Benefits of Eating Eggs

Government has handed over the responsibility of importing eggs to the  Sri Lanka State  Trading Corporation .Government is due to calculate the amount of Eggs need to the country and provide information to the Trading corporation.Government is expected to sell an Egg for  less than Rs.45  after importing them from other countries . .

At present the price of an Egg in the local market is Rs.65 .

Accordingly this water cut is scheduled to be implemented in Colombo -01 ,02,03 04,07 ,09,10 and 11 due to a repair work in the water pump system which supplies water to  Maligakande reservoir (Colombo ).
