Sri Lanka s Oldest Person ,A Female Has Died At The Age Of 117

 Sri Lanka s oldest person the 117 years old Mother Velu Pappani has died yesterday (29)whilst receiving treatment at Nagoda Hospital in Kalutara .


The deceased was born in 03rd of May 1903 and resided in Nehinna at Dodangoda Assistant Government Agent Division ,Kalutara (Western Province ).

Another Corona DeathlHad zv

 Another Corona Death has been Reported in the country today (29) increasing the total number of Corona deaths reported so far ñ to 195 according to the National Covid -19 Prevention Center  .


Accordingly a 45 year old male resided at Wellampitiya area has died whilst receiving treatment at Homagama Base Hospital due to the complications of a Kidney infection caused by Corona infection .

453 Corona Positives Had Been Reported Today (29)

 A total of of 453 Corona positives had been reported in the country today (29)raising the total number of Corona positives reported so far to 42053 according to National Covid -19 Prevention Center .


However today the Center has not announced whether these Corona positives were contacts of the previous contacts or belonging to different Corona clusters emerging in different parts of the country. The Covid -19 prevention center has also didn't mention on the total number of Corona positives reported so far from the Minuwangoda ,Paliyagoda and prisons corona clusters as in other days .

Although the Covid -19 prevention center has daily released the results of  two batches of PCR Tests up to now ,The center has managed to release only the results of one batch today .

At the moment 7944 Corona positives are being treated at Government hospitals and treatment centers .

A 30 Year Old Buddhist Monk Had Demised After Colliding With A Train

 A 30 year old Buddhist Monk had demised after colliding with a night Train ran from Colombo to Matara at  the Coastal railway line in Kahawa ,Hikkaduwa  (Southern Province )last night (28).


The demised Buddhist Monk was attached to a Temple in Ganegoda ,Elpitiya area it has been revealed .

Ambalangoda Police are conducting an investigations to find out whether this incident was an accident or a suicide .

532 Kilo Grammes Of Dried Turmeric Brought Here Illegally Had Been Destroyed

Police Headquarters in Mannar had yesterday (28) destroyed 532 Kilo Grammes of Dried Turmeric which had been taken into custody after illegally bringing them  to Sri Lanka  from India .


Mannar Police Headquarters. Had taken  this  Stock of illegal Dried Turmeric in to custody on  20th of December whilst preparing to transport to Colombo .

The stock of Dried Turmeric. worth more than Rs.500,000 had been destroyed at the Garbage refinery premises attached to Mannar Urban council  accordance to the instructions issued to prevent the spreading of Corona virus it has  been revealed .

At the moment  Sri lanka is being faced a severe shortage of Turmeric .
