Price Of A Cigarette Had Been Increased

 As the Government had increased the Value added tax (VAT ) on goods  from 12 percent to 15 percent through the interim budget proposals presented to the Parliament recently ,Tobacco Companies had today (01)  increased the price of a Cigarette from four price categories 

Accordingly the Price of Cigarettes will be increased by Rs.3 ,5,10 and 15  respectively it has been announced .

No Price Revision For Fuel Today (01)

 Although a Price revision of Fuel is scheduled to be implemented today (01) under the  Price mechanism introduced for  Fuel  There will be no Price increase of fuel according to the Minister of Power and Energy Kanchana Wijesekare .

Sri Lankans Abroad Should Not Send Money Until Govt ,Ends Suppression Against Youth - Field Marshal Fonseka

 Samagi Jana Balawegaya (SJB) MP representing Gampaha District Field Marshal General Sarath Fonseka had today (01) made a special request from the  Sri Lankan living  abroad not to send any money to the country until government ends the terrorism of suppression against local youth .

Protest  against the corrupt politicians and the  corrupt government has not ended as yet  and will rise again he had stated during the debate held in Parliament  today on the  second reading of the Interim budget of the government ,
