A 24 Year Old Person Has Drowned Whilst Bathing In Mahaweli River

A 24 year old youth  has drowned whilst bathing in Mahaweli River in Vilgamuwa area last

evening (19) it has been reported.


The deceased who was a resident of  Ganegoda in Akmeemana area had faced this incident whilst bathing in the danger side of the river it has been revealed .He had gone to the river to bathe from a relatives house and resident of the area have rescued him after  drowning .

However the victim has died on admission to hospital .

A 19 Year Old Youth Has Died Due To Lightning Struck On Him

A 19 year old youth has died and

another person had been injured and hospitalized after lightning struck them at Parasangaswewa area in Anuradhapura(North Central Province) yesterday (19).

The lightning struck on four persons who were at kitchen of a house in parasangaswewa area and two of them had been admitted to Anuradhapura General Hospital for treatment it has been reported.However a youth among those admitted to hospital has died whilst receiving treatment and other person is currently receiving treatment at  Intensive care unit of the hospital.

The deceased was a resident of rambawa in Gonawa area .

A Youth Has Died And Her Sister Had Been Injured Due To Lightning

A 17 year old youth has died and his 15

year old sister has been injured and hospitalized after a lightning had struck them in ftont of  their house at Vishwamadu area in Pudukudirippu area ,Mulathivu this noon(19).

Lightning had struck them whilst they were in front of the house during the heavy showers experienced at that time.

The injured girl had been admitted to Darmapuram district hospital for treatment it had been revealed.

Two Brothers Of A Same Family Died After Toppling Their Boat

Two brothers of a same family have

drowned and died after toppling the Boat they were riding in at Kottukal lagoon in Pothuvil (Eastern Province) this evening(17)..

The Two brothers who had been identified as 12 year old Ali Akbar Abdulla Ali and 16 year old Ali Akbar Irfan Ali resided in Colombo-07 have died on admission to Pothuvil Hospital it has been revealed.

Pothuvil Police are conducting an investigations over the incident.
