The Colombo High Court has today (30)granted the permission to Venerable Uduwe Dhammaloka Thero who is charged for keeping an elephant calf in his possession without a valid permit to go abroad for one week period.
The court has granted permission to Uduwe Thero to go abroad as per the request made by him to grant permission to attend the Buddhist religious activities scheduled to be held in United Kingdom from 03rd to 07th of September.
Due to the allegation leveled against Uduwe Thero regarding keeping an elephant calf illegally , the court has earlier imposed a foreign travel ban on him.
