Prime Minister To Make A Special Speech In Parliament
Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasinghe is due to make a special statement at Parliament tomorrow(05) it has been announced.
Prime Minister will make his speech regarding the Article appeared in New York Times paper on Former President Mahinda Rajapakshe and Hambanthota Harbor project according to reports.
Meanwhile Prime Minister has today stated that opposition members who had crticized the journalists attached to New York Times paper should have appoligized them if they value democracy.

TEACHERS LAUNCHED A SICK NOTE CAMPAIGN-WHILE SCHOOL CHILDREN ATTENDED SCHOOLS IN LARGE NUMBERS
Due to the Island Wide Sick note
campaign launched by the government school teachers attached to four trade Unions ,some schools had not functioned Although School Children in large numbers have attended Schools as usual.
The Teachers and Principals attached to the Trade Union Collective on protecting Education which organized the Sick note campaign had protested in front of the Education Ministey at Battaramulla after reaching there by a protest march from Sugathadasa Stadium in Palawatta , demanding to stop making political appointments in the Education Sector.
During the Protest a brawl had occurred between a group of protestors and new appointees and as a result the president of the Ceylon Teachers Union Dammika Alahapperuma was injured and admitted to Colombo National Hospital.
The sick note campaign was laumched against the new appointments made to the Education sector on the pretext of Political Injustice.
While Trade Unions have stated the trade union action was successful ,Education Minister Akila Viraj Kariyawasam.has stated the strike waa unsuccessful.

CID Has Begun Investigations Over The Facts Revealed From New York Times Article
The Criminal Investigations
Department(CID) has began an investigation over the facts revealed through an Article appeared in New York Times newspaper regarding Former President Mahinda Rajapakshe utilizing US Dollars 7.6 million provided by China Harbor Company to his election campaign ,Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasinghe has stated in Parliament today(04).
The CID has launched the Investigation based on a complaint made by Deputy Minister Ranjan Ramanayake to the CID over the news report.

A 4 Year Old Chilld Was Killed Due To A Motorcycle-Lorry Collision
A 4 year old Child was killed after the
Motorcycle he was travelling in with a relative had colliding with a Lorry at Kachcheri Junction in Kuliyapitiya-Madampe road today(04).
The accident occurred when the Motorcycle travelling from Madampe to Kuliyapitiya had collided with a Lorry which entered the Main road from a Sub Road.
Police have arrested the Lorry Driver Regarding the Accident.

Marawila Police have taken in to custody around 1700 packets of
addictive "Madana Modaka" contains Cannabis stored in a shop to be sold
to the public at Marawila yesterday(03).
The "Madana Modaka" packs prepared to be sold to youth and School children it has been revealed.
Crimes Divison To Inquire On The Complaints Received Against The State Minister Vijayakala Maheswaran
Police Headquarters has forwarded the Complaints received against the State Minister Of Child Affairs Vijayakala Maheswaran to Crimes Division for an inquiry it has been reported.
Accordingly the inquiry on the complaints will be conducted under the guidance of the Senior Deputy Inspector General Of Police(DIG) attached to the Crimes Division.
Complaints were received by the Police headquarters against the Female State Minister over her controversial speech made supporting the LTTE.
Meanwhile State Minister Maheswaran had arrived in Colombo from Jaffna this noon and she is currently participating a meeting with the Prime Minister at his official residence Temple Trees in Colombo according to reports.

A Small Girl Who Had Fallen To A Precipice Was Saved By The Sri Lanka Navy
The Special Boat and Diving Unit of the Sri Lanka Navy have saved a small girl attached to the Bonita Children's Home at Rumassala,Galle who had fallen to a precipice in the area last evening (03).
The mission to save the small girl
was launched after the Galle Harbor Police had informed the incident to
the Southern Naval Headquarters.
The girl was saved
unharmed by the Naval officers and she was later transported to the
Karapitiya Teaching Hospital via an Ambulance and hospitalized to treat
small injuries suffered by her due to the fall..

Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasinghe has summoned State Minister of Child Affairs Vijayakala Maheswaran to Colombo with immediate effect to inquire on her LTTE favored speech made in Jaffna on 02nd of July during an event held in Jaffna.
The controversial State Minister who is a MP in Jaffna representing United National Party (UNP) Was asked to be in Colombo today as the Prime Minister want to meet her today to inquire on her speech it has been reported.
Several factions of the Society as well as Parliamentarians have been requested the government to take an action against her due to her controversial speech which was violating the Sri Lanka constitution.
