Three Persons Were Escaped ,One Missing Due To A Motor Car Accident

A person was disappeared and three were escaped after the Motor Car they were travelling in toppled over to the Vienna Canal near the 17th post in Mapakadawewa on Badulla-Mahiyanganaya road this morning(26).

Three teachers and a Bank Officer were travelling from  Badulla  to Mahiyanganaya from the Motor Car  at the time of the accident.

A search operation has been launched to find out the missing.according to the Mahiyanganaya Police.A Female teacher who had escaped from the incident was admitted to the Mahiyanganaya Hospital due to minor injuries she had received during the incident.

A Hand Grenade Was Recovered In A Land At Katukurunda

A live Hand Grenade had been recovered today (25)in

a land at Katukurunda in Habaraduwa by the land owner who is an Engineer

The land owner had recovered the Hand Grenade while  digging a pit in his newly bought land to plant a tree and informed it to the Habaraduwa Police.The Grenade was later defused by the Bomb disposal squad of the Army.

Habaraduwa Police are conducting an investigation over the incident.

While the protestors have conducted their protest march peacefully few Tamil diasphora persons have attempted to reached them with an Ealam flag ,However British Police had  prevented them by doing so.

A sudden fire occurred in a Motor Spare parts store at

Kottawa this evening (25)was doused by the fire brigades of Colombo and Dehiwala-Mount Lavinia urban council according to sources.

Two fire trucks belonging to the Colombo Fire Department and a fire truck attached to the Dehiwala-Mount Lavinia urban council jointly doused the fire.Kotte Municipal Council had provided a water bowser to douse the fire according to reports.

The cause of the fire and the damage done due to the fire not yet been revealed.

Elephant who brought to the Navam procession in a Temple at Debarawewa last evening (24).

The critically injured Mahout had succumbed to his injuries after admission to the Debarawewa Hospital.

The attack was taken place while the Mahout who had kept the Elephant for 10 years attempting to take the Elephant for a bath before the procession it has been revealed.
