A Youth With More Than 275 Liters Of Illicit Liquor "Goda" And Equipment Used To Prepare Liquor Arrested At Balangoda
The Balangoda Police have today(09) arrested a 21 year old youth who is running an illicit liquor business at Galpeella Ala Water Reserve Area in Balangoda with more than 275 liters of Goda(Locally made illicit liquor) and equipment used to prepare the liquor .The suspect who is a resident of Pettigalawatta Area in Balangoda has been produced before Balangoda Magistrate Court this evening.
Balangoda Police are conducting further investigations on the incident.
A British National Found Mysteriously Dead At A Tourist Resort In Unawatuna
A British National attached to a Foreign Ship as a Security Office has found mysteriously dead in a room at a Tourist Resort in Unawatuna(In Southern Province) where he resided in early this morning according to the Police.The deceased Foreign National has been identified as a Security Officer attached to a Ship arrived at Galle Harbor.He has been resided at a Tourist Resort in Unawatuna until the departure of his Ship.
Habaraduwa(In Southern Province) Police are conducting an investigation on the incident.
Imprisoned Bodu Bala Sena Secretary Gnanasara Thero Has Been Granted Bail And Re Remanded
The imprisoned General Secretary Of the Bodu Bala Sena Venerable Galagodaaththe Gnanasara Thero had been released on bail on the charge of Contempt Of Court by Homagama Magistrate this morning and later again remanded until tomorrow(10) for the reason of not meeting the bail conditions.Accordingly Gnanasara Thero will be produced before the Homagama Magistrate Court again tomorrow(10).The Thero has been remanded for allegedly threatening the wife of missing cartoonist Prageeth Eknaligoda, Sandya Eknaligoda at the court premises.
Earlier in the day Homagama Magistrate has released Gnanasara Thero on two personal bails of Rs.100,000 each.
