Sri Lankan Cricketers beat India by 5 wickets yesterday(09) during the first T-20 Match played between two teams in  India .

Sri Lanka has won the toss and elected to field first and the Indian Team has managed to score 101 runs during 18.5 Overs .In reply Sri Lankan Cricketers have scored 105 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in 18 overs and secured the victory.

Around 31186 Displaced Persons Are At

There are around 31186 displaced persons at  Displaced Camps in Jaffna District (In Northern Province) at present according to the Displaced People  in Jaffna District.

A group of  displaced persons in Jaffna has informed on this to visiting United Nations High Commissioner For Human Rights  Prince Zeid Raad Al Hussain when he visited Jaffna last week

The Displaced Persons in Jaffna have  requested the authorities to free their lands now belongs to high security zone in Jaffna.

A Youth With More Than 275 Liters Of Illicit Liquor "Goda" And Equipment Used To Prepare Liquor Arrested At Balangoda

The Balangoda Police have today(09) arrested a 21 year old youth who is running an illicit liquor business at Galpeella Ala Water Reserve Area in Balangoda with more than 275 liters of Goda(Locally made illicit liquor) and equipment used to prepare the liquor .

The suspect who is a resident of  Pettigalawatta Area in Balangoda has been produced before Balangoda Magistrate Court this evening.

Balangoda Police are conducting further investigations on the incident.

A British National Found Mysteriously Dead At A Tourist Resort In Unawatuna

A British National attached to a Foreign Ship as a Security Office has found mysteriously dead in a room at a Tourist Resort in Unawatuna(In Southern Province) where he resided in  early this morning according to the Police.

The deceased Foreign National has been identified as a Security Officer attached to a Ship arrived at Galle Harbor.He has been resided at a Tourist Resort in Unawatuna until the departure of his Ship.

Habaraduwa(In Southern Province) Police are conducting an investigation on the incident.

Imprisoned Bodu Bala Sena Secretary Gnanasara Thero Has Been Granted Bail And Re Remanded

The imprisoned General Secretary Of the Bodu Bala Sena Venerable Galagodaaththe Gnanasara Thero had  been released on bail on the charge of Contempt Of Court by Homagama Magistrate this morning and later again remanded until tomorrow(10) for the reason of not meeting   the bail conditions.

Accordingly Gnanasara Thero will be produced before the Homagama Magistrate Court again tomorrow(10).The Thero  has been remanded for allegedly threatening the wife of missing cartoonist Prageeth Eknaligoda, Sandya Eknaligoda at the court premises.

Earlier in the day Homagama Magistrate has released Gnanasara Thero on two personal bails of Rs.100,000 each.

Field Marshal Fonseka Has Took Oath As A Member Of Parliament

The Leader of the Democratic Party and former Army Commander Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka has took oath as a member of  Parliament before speaker Karu Jayasuriya this evening.

The Working Committee Of the Governing United National Party has yesterday (08) decided to nominate Field Marshal Fonseka for the National List Parliamentary Seat left vacant due to the death of former Minister Of Lands M.K.A.D.S Gunawardena.

Cecille Kothalawala Has Been Remanded Unil 23rd Of February And Transferred To Colombo National Hospital From A Private Hospital

Image result for cecile kotelawalaColombo Additional  Magistrate has today (09)ordered to remand Cecille Kothalawala the wife of  former Sri Lankan Business Tycoon Lalith Kothalawala until 23rd Of February and  transfer her to Colombo National Hospital  from the Private Hospital where she is receiving treatment since her arrest.

The Criminal Investigations Department (CID)didn't show any objection regarding transferring  Cecille Koathalawala to Colombo National Hospital.


Cecille Kotahalawala has been charged for misappropriating Rs.26 billion worth public investments at Golden Key Credit Company belongs to Ceylinco Group.She  has been arrested  by Immigration Officials upon her arrival to Sri Lanka last week and handed over to CID for further investigations.
