Immigration Officials Arrested A Youth Who attempted To Fly Singapore With Fake Docuements

Airport had Yesterday(24)arrested a 25 year old resident of Point of Pedro
,Jaffna who had attempted to fly to Singapore at the Airport by producing fake documents.
During the checking of the hand luggage of the suspect ,immigration officials have been recovered another Air Ticket issued to fly from Singapore to United Kingdom as well as an Identity card and large number of fraudulently prepared certificates indicating that the suspect is a commercial naval officer it has been revealed..However the suspected male has been identified as a Fisheries mechanic.

Ammonia Tank Deaths:Senior Manager And Chief Lab Technologist Of Horana Rubber Factory Were Re Remanded
The Senior Manager and the Chief female Lab Technologist attached to the Rubber Manufacturing Factory at Ballapitiya in Horana arrested and remanded over the five deaths occurred last week as a result of falling in to a Ammonia Tank of the factory, were re remanded until this friday (27) by the Horana Acting Magistarte today(25).

Sri Lankan Female Was Among The Ten Persons Killed Due To A Man Drove A Van In To Pedestrians In Northern Toronto
Sri Lankan Female Renuka Amarasinghe (48) a single mother who holds Canadian Citizenship was among the 10 persons who have been killed after a 25 year old man Man drove a Van in to Pedestrians in a busy Yonga Street at Northern Toronto yesterday (24) killing 10 persons and injuring another 15 according to reports.
The deceased Sri Lankan was from Horana ,Kalutara and she lived in Canada alone it has been revealed.As she holds Canadian Citizenship her funeral is due to be held in Canada according to reports.

Impriosned SP Neomal Rangajeewa And Prison Commissioner Further Remanded
The Superintendent of Police attached to the Police Anti Narcotic Bureau Neomal Rangajeewa and a Prison Commissioner Emil Ranjan Lamahewa who have been arrested and remanded over the deaths of 27 prison inmates in Welikada prison during a riot in 2012 ,have been again remanded until 08th of May by the Colombo Chief Magistrate today (24).

Colombo Fort Magistrate Again Issued Open Warrant To Arrest Fomer Sri Lankan Ambassador To USA Jaliya Wikramasuriya
Colombo Fort Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne has today (24) again issued an open warrant to arrest former Sri Lankan Ambassador to United States Of America Jaliya Wikramsuriya to be produced before the court to face a case filed against him over misusing of state funds while he was in office.
The arrest warrant was issued as per the request of Police Financial Crimes Investigation Division.
Jaliya Wikramsuriya who was earlier arrested and remanded over misusing of million of rupees worth state funds during a construction work of a building in USA had later released on bail and he went abroad for medical treatment as per the permission given to him by the court.But after the period he never returned.
Colombo Fort Magistrate has also issued arrest warrants to the suspects wife and his cousin sister who had signed for his bail application .
The case against the former Sri Lankan Ambassador to USA is due to be heard on 14th of May.

Although Sri Lanka eliminated the Malaria disease in 2012 ,Still around 50 Malaria patients are being reported from various provinces in the country annually due to foreign tourists and those locals who went to Malaria hit countries and returned according to the Director General Of Health Services Dr.Anil Jasinghe.
If necessary steps not been taken to treat import Malaria Patients coming from other countries there is a risk of spreading Malaria again in Sri Lanka Dr.Jasinghe has stated while addressing a Media Briefing held at Hotel Kingsbury ,Colombo this noon.
Malaria is transmitted from one person to another through a Mosquito Bite and Travelers going to Malaria endemic countries are at risk of getting Malaria he has stated.
