Airport Customs Officers Arrested A Sri Lankan Attempted To Smuggle A Stock Of An Expensive Wallapatta
Airport Customs Officers had last night(21) arrested a Sri Lankan who attempted to illegally smuggle 26 Kilos of expensive "Wallapatta" or "Gyrinops Walla" use to manufacture an expensive perfumes ,to Chennai -India at the Katunayake,Bandaranaike International Airport.
The Customs Officers had fined the 37 year old suspect who is a resident in Kuliapitiya area with Rs.100,000 fine and detained him to investigate further on the incident.
The stock of Wallapatta taken into custody concealed in a baggage and brought to the Airport it has been revealed.The value of the stock has been estimated as Rs.1.2 million.
The Customs Officers had fined the 37 year old suspect who is a resident in Kuliapitiya area with Rs.100,000 fine and detained him to investigate further on the incident.

Fisheries Ministry Officials Taken Into Custody A Stock Of Live Lobsters From A Chinese Restaurant
Officials attached to Ministry Of
Fisheries And Aquatic Resources Development had today (21) raided a Chinese Restaurant in Colpetty and taken into custody a stock of live lobsters and sea cucumbers worth over RS.100,000.
The owners of the Resruarent who are Chinese Nationals too arrested by the officials during the raid .
The possession and fishing of live lobsters had been banned during its breeding period from February to March according to the Ministry
The suspected Chinese Nationals are due to produce before the court tomorrow (22).

Commission Investigating On The Central Bank Bond Scam Began Their Investigations
The Presidential Commission investigating on the controversial bond scam issue of the Central
Bank has commenced their investigations this morning (21) at it's office in court premises in Colombo-12.
The current governor of the Central Bank Dr.Indrajith Kumaraswamy had given evidence before the commission for three hours as the first witness of the bond scam issue it has been reported.
He is due to give evidence before the commission tomorrow (22) as well.
The three member Commission headed by Supreme Court Judge K.T Chitrasiri is due hand over the report of the investigations to the president within three months.

All Ceylon Medical Officers Association To Complain Against Director Of Malabe Medical Collage To The Police Headquarters
The All Ceylon Medical Officers Association has decided to complaint to the Police headquarters in Colombo tomorrow(22) against the Director of Malabe Private Medical Collage Sameera Senaratne who has not registered as a Medical Doctor in the Sri Lanka Medical Council but describing him as a Doctor to the society .
The Medical Officers Association is due to request the Police to take a legal action against the above mentioned Medical Collage Director tomorrow according to the Secretary of the Association Dr.Jayantha Bandara.

Sri Lankan Government Has Taken Steps To Solve Health Issues Of Migrants-Health Minister Dr.Senaratne
Sri Lankan Government has taken steps to solve health issues related to migrants according to the Minister Of Health Dr.Rajitha Senaratne.
Sri Lanka has faced so many health issues in the past that related to migrants ,but through the experience and attention managed to control the spreading of many diseases the Minister has stressed while addressing the inauguration of the 02nd Global Consultation On Migrant Health held in Hotel Galadari in Colombo this morning(21).
"The experiences and understanding we have gained over the years was useful for us to develop an all inclusive migrant health policy.In the year 2008 when the resolution on health of migrants was adapted in 61st World Health Assembly ,We were one of the first countries to move towards understanding our migration health issues " Health Minister has further stated.

Peradeniya University Authorities Suspended The 15 Undegraduates Who Were Arrested Over A Ragging Incident
Peradeniya University authorities had today (21) suspended the 15 second year Undergraduates attached to the Faculty of Agriculture of the University who were arrested and remanded yesterday (20) over ragging a group of first year students.
The Vice Chancellor of the Peradeniya University Professor Upul Dissanayake has stated that the suspended students will not allow to attend the lectures until the investigations on the ragging incident concluded.
The suspended students were remanded until 02nd of March over the ragging incident .
