Water Board Wants To Increase The Water Tariffs Again

 The National Water Supplies and Drainage Board (NWSDB) has  recommended to increase the water tariffs  again  citing that the  cost paid to supply water to the public is higher then the earnings .,

Although Water Board is being charged  only 02 cents per a unit of water provided to the public the Board is spending 12 -14 cents to provide a unit of water  it has been stated by the report  handed over to the advisory committee of the Ministry of Water supplies by the Water  Board.,

Three Persons Were Injured Due To A Fire Erupted At A Jewelry Shop

 Three persons were injured and hospitalized due to a sudden fire erupted  at a Jewelry shop in Dummalasuriya area ,Puttalam (North Western Province) this morning (20).

Fire brigade had doused the fire completely .The Jewelry shop had been severely damaged due to the fire and the cause behind the fire has not yet been revealed .

Ministry Of Agriculture To Remove The Ban Imposed On Glyphosate Imports

The Ministry Of Agriculture has decided to remove the ban of Poisonous substance "Glyphosate " .The Gazette notification regarding the removal of the Glyphosate ban had been given  to the State Printing Corporation by the Ministry  of Agriculture to print . The Ban on importing Glyphosate contained Fertilizer to Sri Lanka has been imposed in 2015 due to the reports on impact of it to the human health ..However the authorities have decided to remove that ban considering the proposals made by Farmers and Agriculture experts ,
