Lives Of Thousands Of Heart Patients Are In Danger Due To The Closure Of Two Theaters Attach To Cardio Thoracic Unit Of Colombo National Hospital

Image result for colombo national hospitalThe lives of thousands of heart patients who are in the waiting list of the Cardio thoracic Unit of the Colombo National Hospital are in danger due to the closure of two out of the three theaters attached to the unit for urgent repairs according to the Hospital sources.

The two theaters which closed down recently for repairs are due to reopen for surgeries in two months time the sources have stressed.

Due to this situation around 40 heart patients at the Cardio thoracic Unit  and thousands of registered patients in the waiting list for heart surgeries are in life threatening position , and seven such patients at the cardio thoracic unit have died during last few weeks according to the collective of heart patients attached to the Colombo National Hospital. 

Chinese Company Which Involved In Colombo Port City Project Agreed Not To Seek Compansation From The Government

Image result for COLOMBO PORT CITYThe Chinese company which involved in the construction work of Colombo Port City Project at Galle Face has agreed not to seek compensation from the Sri Lankan government for the period the government had halted the work of the project to studying the environmental impact of it.

Cabinet Spokesman ,Minister of Media Gayantha Karunathilaka has stated during the Cabinet Briefing held yesterday (01)at government information department that the Chinese company CHEC Port City, Colombo has agreed not to seek compensation from the government in view of the goodwill established between Sri Lanka and China during the visits of Sri Lanka's President and Prime Minister to China.

At the end of the project Sri Lanka will have 45 hectares of Parks and 14 Artificial beaches in the Colombo Port City he has stressed.


The Minister has also stated that the Chinese government has agreed the government to use the port city land  to build a financial city to fill the vacuum between Singapore and Dubai.

President Has Appointed President's Counsal

The president has handed over the letter of appointment in this regard to President's Counsel Warnakulasuriya yesterday evening.

One of the Sri Lanka's leading Criminal Lawyers, Hemantha Warnakulasuriya has took oaths as a lawyer on 1972 and began his practice at Colombo Magistrate Courts.He was appointed as a President's Counsel on 2006.

Speaker Has Signed The Right To Information Act To Make It Effective- Minister Karunathilake

Image result for sri lanka parliamentThe Parliament Speaker Karu Jayasuriya has signed the right to information act yesterday (01) to make it effective according to the Cabinet Spokesman and Minister Of Media and Parliamentary Reforms Gayantha Karunathilake.

The signing of the act which has been passed in the Parliament recently was delayed due to the fact that the speaker was out of the country for medical treatment the Minister has stressed.
