Police Have Detained 17 Businessmen For Changing Foreign Currencies Without Permission
The Police Officers attached to Crimes Division of Western Province have yesterday(09)detained 17 businessmen including Jewlry Shop Owners who had changed foreign currencies without permission in Negambo and Ja Ela areas.
During the raid the Police have recovered Rs.500,000 worth foreign currency notes including US Dollars ,Malaysian Ringits and Indian Rupees.
The Central Bank has assisted the raid it has been reported,

Names Of Sixty Five Sri Lankans Included In Database Of Panama Investors Issued yesterday(09)
Accordingly the details of the names of three Sri Lankan Companies , seven intervene rs and 53 addresses are included in the database according to reports.

Navy Have Detained Six Local Fishermen Regarding Illegally Harvesting Sea Cucumbers From The Seas Of Eastern Chalai
During the raid the Navy Officers have taken into custody 150 Sea Cucumbers,Two Fiber Glass Dinghies,four pairs of diving fins, four diving masks and twenty oxygen cylinders .

Ilegal Unsafe Abortions Amongst Local Females Are On The Incraese -Health Surveys Revealed
Accordingly Majority of females who are seeking illegal unsafe abortions in Sri Lanka are married females over 35years of age according to Community Physician attached to Family Health Bureau Dr.Kapila Jayaratne.
As Abortions are not legalized in Sri Lanka those married females who have failed to adapt a family planning method are seeking abortions through an illegal centers situated in the country he has stressed.
Most of these females who are going to Illegal Centers for abortions ended up with admitting to government hospitals due to the complications they have experienced due to an unsafe abortions performs at those centers Dr.Jayaratne has stated.
Dr.Jayaratne has revealed these facts at a Media Briefing held today(09) at Health Education Bureau in Colombo titled "Health and Social Effects of Abortions".
Out of around 112 maternal deaths reported from Sri Lanka annually 14 are caused due to abortions it has been revealed.
Speaking at the Briefing the Director of Child and Women's Bureau at Department Of Police E Jayasuriya have stated that around 27 Illegal Abortion Centers have raided during last year and legal actions were taken against the owners of these Centers.
