Anuradhapura Police Have Detained A Hospital Minor Staffer Who Had Sold A Kidney Drug To Drug Addicts
Anuradhapura Police have detained a minor staff employee attached to the Anuradhapura Teaching Hospital who had sold a pain killer drug issued free of charge for government hospital kidney patients to drug addicts.
The 57 year old minor staffer who is attached to the Kidney Treatment Unit of Anuradhapura Hospital had sold the drug to the drug addicts by steeling from the hospital and he was detained while attempting to sell 40 tablets of the above mentioned drug to a police officer who meet him as a drug addict for Rs.3200 the Anuradhapura Police have stated.
The suspect who is a resident of Kahatagasdigiliya area was detained as per the information received on him to the police.

COPE To Recall Central Bank Officials To Record Statements Regarding Central Bank Bond Scam
The Committee On Public Enterprises (COPE )is due to recall the Central Bank officials to appear before the Committee on 12th of August to record statements regarding the alleged Bond Scam Issue occurred at the Bank.
According to the chairman of COPE ,MP Sunil Handuneththi the COPE had recorded statements from the Central Bank Officials regarding the Bond Scam issue.

Non Academic Staffers Rejected The University Grant Commissions Request On Return To Work
Although the University Grants Commission(UGC) has informed the University Non Academic Staffers who are on strike to report for work Today(05) without solving their major demands ,non of the striking Staffers return to work today according to University Authorities.
The UGC has stated that those non academic Staffers who are in probation and traning at present will be treated as having vacated their posts if they do not report for work today..
However the University Joint Trade Union Alliance has stated that if the authorities are trying to suppressed their striking workers the strikers will never return to work.
The non academic staff of all state universities are on strike since last week by demanding solutions for many of their demands including introducing an insurance Scheme .extending their retirement age to 60 years and Granting an interim allowance.
