Two European Commission Representatives Are To Be Here To Inspect The Ways Of Lifting Sri Lankan Fish Export Ban

Two Representatives belonging to European Commission (EC) are due to arrive Sri Lanka to inspect the ways  of lifting the ban imposed on Sri Lankan Fish Exports to the European Market.

Accordingly One European Union Representative is due to arrive Sri Lanka today(12) and another representative is due to be here on 16th of November.

European Commission has banned Sri Lankan Fishing Exports to  Europe since  last January.and the Commission has given some recommendations for Sri Lanka to adapt them if the Country wants to re commence fish exports to European Market.

Ministry Of Health To Launch A Three Day Island Wide Dengue Mosquito Control Programme from Today(12)

The Ministry Of Health is due to launch a three day Island Wide Dengue Mosquito Control Programme from today(12) up to This Saturday(14) according to the Ministry.Under this Programme Health Officials with the assistance of Police and Tri Force Personal will carry out inspections within household and other premises island wide to check Whether there are Dengue Mosquito Breeding Places Health Ministry has said.

 There's a threat of  spreading  Dengue throughout the  Island these days Mostly in City Of Colombo     due to the rainy weather prevails in most parts of the country  Ministry Of Health has stressed.

Dengue in several places throughout the Island especially in City Of Colombo is on the increase according to the Epidemiologists.

Bank Robber And A Security Guard Have Been Killed Due To A Grenade Explosion Occurred At A Bank Robbery

A Bank Robber and a  Bank Security Guard have been killed due to a hand grenade explosion occurred while  Robber had attempted  to steal   Money from a Private Bank at  Kekirawa (North Central Province) this afternoon.

The Bank Robber said to have  entered the Bank with a hand grenade in his possession  and tried to steal the money from a  Bank according to Police.However the Security Guard who was there inside the Bank at that time had tried to prevent Robber from stealing the money and during their struggle   Hand Grenade that was with the  robber had exploded Police have said.

Due to the explosion both the Robber and  Security Guard have succumbed to their injuries  and four others who have received minor injuries have admitted to Kekirawa District Hospital.

The Kekirawa Police are conducting investigation on the incident.

Name Of "Nagadeepa" Island Will Not Be Changed As "Nainativu"-Minister Of Local Government And Provincial Councils

The Minister Of Local Government And Provincial Councils Faizer Mustapha has today(11) assured that  government will not allow to change the name Of Northern Sri Lankan  Island "Nagadeepa" as "Nainativu".

It has been reported earlier that Northern Provincial Council has decided to pass a resolution to change the name of "Nagadeepa" as "Nainativu"

"Nagadeepa" is a small island situated at  off the coast of   Jaffna Peninsula(Northern Sri Lanka).

Thirty One Detained LTTE Suspects Who Were Released On Bail Today Taken Back To Prison Shortly After Releasing Them

Image result for jailThe Thirty One detained LTTE suspects who were released this evening on bail by Colombo Chief Magistrate have taken back to the prison again  shortly after they were released due to not fulfilling their bail conditions  according to the sources.

Earlier the said suspects who were detained under the Terrorism Prevention Act have been released on bail after Attorney Generals Department has approved it.However this morning they were ordered to be further remanded until 24th of November by Colombo Chief Magistrate as Attorney General has not approved their release at that time.

Two New Ministers have been  sworn in before President Maithripala Sirisena at the Presidential Secretariat this morning as Ministers Of Law And Order and Prison Reforms.

Accordingly Minister Of Southern Development  Sagala Ratnayake has been sworn in as Minister Of Law And Order and Minister Of Rehabilitation And Settlement  D.M Swaminathan sworn in as Minister Of Prison Reforms.

These Two new Ministers have shared the Ministries hold by former Minister of Law and Order and Prison Reforms Thilak Marapana who was resigned from his Ministerial Portfolio over the Avant Garde Issue on Monday .
