Gate Keepers Of The Unprotected Railway Crossings Launched A Strike

The unprotected railway crossings Gate Keepers throughout the island  have launched a strike action by demanding to solve their salary problem.

Due to the strike action the police officers have assigned for the duty in several unprotected railway crossings in the country.

One Afghan Youth Has Died And Three Other Afghan Nationals Were Drowned And Rescued While Bathing At Sea In Thalpe

A sixteen year old Afghan youth was drowned and three other Afghan Nationals were drowned and rescued while bathing at the sea in Thalpe,Habaraduwa (Southern Province)yesterday (30) according to the police.

All four Afghan Nationals who were drowned in the sea  were rescued and admitted to the Karapitiya Teaching Hospital it has been reported.The sixteen year old youth has died after being  admitted to the Hospital.

Three Mahouts Were Seriously Injured And Hospitalized Due To The Attack By Elephant At Pinnawala

Three mahouts attached to the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage were seriously injured and hospitalized today(31) due to an attack of an elephant in the orphanage according to the reports.

The conditions of the three mahouts who were attacked by the elephant said to be serious.

The elephant who attacked the mahouts was being treated at the elephant orphanage for some time and had become violent today and attacked the mahouts according to sources.
