Two Most Wanted Thieves Were Detained In Jaffna With Over One Kilo Gramme Of Gold
Jaffna Police have detained two thieves who are identified as most wanted for several robberies had taken place in the area during last few weeks with one kilo gramme of Gold in their possession at Jaffna yesterday(16)evening.
The suspects who are residents in Jaffna and Kopai areas were detained after a days long investigations Jaffna Police have stated.

A Live Hand Grenade Was Found From A Swimming Pool Of An International School
The Kohuwala Police have today(17) recovered A live hand grenade made in a foreign country from a Swimming Pool at an International School in Nugegoda(In Colombo).
After recovered the Grenade the Police have infofmed the Bomb Disposal Squad of the Sri Lanka Army and the squad officers who arrived at the scene have detonated the grenade at a nearby playground.
The Kohuwala Police are currently investigating on how the Grenade came to the Swimming Pool.

No Sri Lankans Among Victims Of Attempted Cough In Turkey

University Of Jaffna Has Been Closed Down Until Further Notice
The Jaffna University Authorities have today (17) decided to temporarily close down the University with effect from today until further notice.
The decision has been taken after considering the yesterday's clash between two student groups attached to the university during a ceremony held at University Premises according to sources.
The Authorities have stated that the Jaffna University has been closed down in view of creating a suitable atmosphere for students to carry out their studies within the university premises

Three Officers Attached To Kolonna Police Have Been Suspended From Work
The authorities have suspended the work of Two police officers and a civil security force personal attached to Kolonna Police with effect from last evening over supporting an illegal liquor dealer.

Hatton Police And Army Found Four Undergraduates Who Went Missing At Saptha Kanya Mountain
The Hatton Police have today (17)found the four undergraduates who went missing at Saptha Kanya (Seven Virgins) Mountain Range since last evening.
The missing students three from the University Of Kelaniya and one from Kothalawala Defense Academy were found during a joint search operation carried out by Hatton Police and the Army.

Twelve Foreigners And Five Locals Were Injured And Hospitalized Due To A Wasp Attack In Sigiriya
Seventeen persons including twelve foreigners and five Sri Lankans were injured and hospitalized this morning following a wasp attack occurred at entrance to the historical Sigiriya Rock.
Ten Chinese Nationals ,An Indian National and a German National along with five Sri Lankans from Mattakkuliya Area were admitted to Kimbissa Hospital with injuries due to the wasp attack it has been reported.A Chinese National and another female who are among the hospitslized have been transferred to Dambulla Hospital as their condition is critical.
