Ministry Of Health Has Launched An Island Wide Survey On Doctors
The Ministry Of Health,Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine has yesterday(04) launched an Island Wide survey on Government Doctors attached to Government Hospitals and Health Institutions in the Country view of introducing a Electronic Data Management System for Medical Professionals in Sri Lanka.
This Survey will be carried out with the assistance of Government Medical Officers Association(GMOA) and Government Dental Surgeons Association.
The Survey which is first of it's kind launched in Sri Lanka will also reveals whereabouts of illegal Doctors practicing throughout the country the Ministry Of Health has said.

Eight Detained Indian Fishermen Have Been Remanded By Magistrate Court In Jaffna
The Eight Indian Fishermen who were arrested by Sri Lankan Navy recently while illegally fishing in Sri Lankan Waters in Sea Coast off Jaffna-Kankasanthurai(In Northern Province) have been remanded by Mallakam Magistrate Court in Jaffna after being produced before the court yesterday(04).
Earlier Sri Lankan Navy had handed over the arrested Indian Fishermen along with two boats they were in to Fisheries and Aquatic Resources Office in Kankasanthurai for future action.
These Fishermen arrived at Sri Lankan Waters on 01st of March for fishing it has been reported.

Fifteen Chief Police Inspectors Of Special Task Force Had Promoted As Assistant Superintendents Of Police
The Department Of Police Had promoted 15 Chief Police Inspectors attached to Police Special Task Force as Assistant Superintendents Of Police(ASP).

Government To Preserve Five Endangered Species Inherent To Sri Lanka-Acting Minister Of Sustainable Development And Wild Life
The Government will take steps to preserve Five Endangered Species inherent to Sri Lanka whose numbers are rapidly decreasing according to acting minister of Sustainable Development And Wild Life Sumedha Jayasena.
Accordingly The Black Monkey ,Loris(Unahapuluwa),House Sparrow,Asokapethiya and Pangolins(Kaballawa) will be named as five endangered species which should be preserved the acting minister has said.
The Acting Minister Sumedha Jayasena has made these remarks during her speech at World Wild Life Day Celebrations held at Udawalawe National Zoo yesterday(04).

President Has Appointed A New "National Salaries And Cadre Commission" For Two Year Period
President Maithripala Sirsena has yesterday (04) appointed a 23 member 'National Salaries And Cadre Commission" to advise and assist the Government to formulate and implement a " National Wage Policy".
The Government on Thursday(03) issued an extraordinary gazette notification regarding the establishing of new "National Salaries and Cadre Commission" for a two year period.
President Sirisena has appointed K.L.L Wijeratne as the Chairman of the Commission and Asoka Jayasekera as the Secretary.
President has abolished the National Pay Commission as well established under the President's directive on 31-10-2013.
The Newly appointed Salaries and Cadre Commission will recommend a suitable National Salaries And Wages Policy to prevent a competition may have arise in Public and Private Sectors.The Commission is due to conduct a Cadre assessment and review all remuneration structures including the salaries and wages in the public sector .

Russian Life Saving Ship "Apron" Arrived At Colombo Harbor
A Life Saving Ship "Apron' belonging to the Russian Navy has arrived at Colombo Harbor on Thursday(03) for a goodwill tour.
The 89.7 Meter Long Russian Ship can carry 3400 Tonnes of Goods and the Ship Crew comprising with 138 Russian Navy Personal.
The Life Saving Ship is scheduled to leave the Colombo Harbor on Saturday(05).

Six School Children Were Injured And Hospitalized As The Cab They Were In Turned Over In Cinnamon Gardens,Colombo
Six School Children were injured and hospitalized this evening as the Cab they were travelling in turned over near the Library Junction at Tennis Grounds in Cinnamon Gardens(In Colombo) during a Vehicle Parade organized by a leading School in Colombo.
The Injured Students were admitted to the Colombo National Hospital for treatment.There were 13 school children inside the Cab when the accident occurred according to the Police.
The Cinnamon Gardens Police are conducting an Investigations on the accident.
