Protesters Captured Prime Minister's Office During A Protest

A large group of Protesters belonging to the "Gotago home "protest campaign in Galle Face had today (14) captured the Prime Minister Ranil Wkramasinghe 's office at Flower Road in Colombo-07 following the clashes with armed forces deployed there .

The Protesters had arrived at the site and protested against appointing Prime Minister Ranil Wikramsinghe as the new acting president it has been reported ,Police have fired tear gas and water cannons to disperse the protesters .But they have gathered again and managed to enter the premises by breaking the front gate ,Later the security forces deployed to provide the security to the Premier's office had left from the area .

Meanwhile protesters had captured state owned television stations National Rupavahini Corporation and Independence Television Network as well and declared them as nationalized institutions ,

President Gotabhaya Rajapakshe Didn't "Send His Resignation Letter Today (13)

President Gotabhaya Rajapakshe who had fled from the country amidst the opposition of public in wee hours of this morning (13) had issued an Extra ordinary Gazette Notification regarding the appointment of Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasinghe as the new acting president in Sri Lanka with effect from today to cover duties of Executive presidency in his absence .

Through this Extra ordinary gazette notification President Rajpakshe had stated as he is away from the country at present Prime Minister Wikramasinghe had been appointed as the new Acting President to cover powers ,activities and duties of the Executive presidency ,

President Rajapakshe had last Saturday (09) announced that he will step down from presidency within today ,But up to now he has not handed over his resignation letter to the Speaker it has been reported ,President Rajapakshe had arrived in Maldives this morning along with his wife and two security officers by Sri Lanka Air Force plane and later due to flying to Singapore as his final destination.

Acting President Wwikramsinghe Imposed An Island Wide Curfew

Acting President Ranil Wikramasinghe who had imposed an Island Wide state of Emergency and curfew in Western province since this Morning (13) had later imposed an Island Wide curfew until 5 a.m tomorrow (14) morning .

Acting President Wikramaisnghe had issued a gazette notification today regarding the Curfew imposed island wide .The Island Wide Curfew had been imposed due to to the protests held in various places throughout the island .
