A total of 08 Corona positives had been
reported in the country yesterday (02), Increasing the total number of Corona positives reported so far to 2823 according to Epidemeology Unit.
Accordingly out of the 08 Corona positives reported yesterday, 07 were arrivals from United Arab Emirates and one was a close contact of the Corona positive officer attached to Lankapura Divisional secretariet in Polonnaruwa .The Corona positive officer is a close contact of a member of Kandakadu Corona cluster and as a result the Lankapura Divisional secretariet had closed down temporarily .All these Corona positives identified yesterday have been identified whilst at quarantine Centers and they were later transferred to hospitals for treatment.
At the moment 298 Corona positives are being treated at Government Hospitals and 2514 Positives had been discharged from hospitals so far after full recovery.
So far 11 Corona deaths has been reported in the country and the last death was reported in first week of June .
