Cabinet Aprroved A Proposal To Remove 15 Percent VAT Imposed On Private Hospital Consultation Fees
Cabinet has approved a Cabinet Proposal submitted by the Health Minister Dr.Rajitha Senaratne on removing the 15 percent Value added tax(VAT) imposed over the Medical Consultation fees,Channelling fees and Fees paid to the Medical professionals involved in Private Practice with effect from 01st of July.
According to the Minister of Finance and Media Mangala Samaraweera ,Health Minister has subnitted the proposal under the imstructions of the President and Prime Minister to remove these taxes imposed since 01st of January 2016.

If There"s A Drug Shortage In A Hospital, The Director Of The Hospital Should Take The Responsibility Of It-Health Minister
There's no Drug shortage in Any Government Hospital at present and if there is a shortage than the Director of that Hospital should take responsibility of it according to the Minister of Health Dr.Rajitha Senaratne.
Addressing a gathering held at thr Monaragala District Hospital recently Minister has stated that every Government Hospital Director was given Rs.10 million annually for the daily requirments of the Hospital and due to the software provided to every hospital there's a facility that a Hospital director can get the out of stock drug from the nearby hospital.
Therefore if there is Drug shortage in any hospital 'The director of that hospital should take the responsibility of it he has stressed.
Fieldmarshal Sarath Fonseka To Resign From His Ministerial Post If The Govt.Do Not Support Him To Catch The Two Rare Wild Elephants In Sinharaja As Promised
Minister Of Wild Life and Sustainable Development Fieldmarshal Sarath Fonseka has said that if the government do not support to catch the two rare wild life Elephants residing in Sinharaja forest reserve within next three months as promised,He will resign from his Ministerial Post.
While addressing a meeting held at the Rajawatta Temple in Rambuka over the Elephant-Human conflict Fieldmarshal Sarath Fonseka had urged the need to solve the Elephant-Human conflict and stressed that he would solve it within one year.
He had shown his unhappiness over the stopping of the mission of catching two rare wild elephants in Sinharaja reserve to move them to Horowpathana Elephant center under the isnstructions of the President Maithripala Sirisena.

Islandwide Raids To Remove 28 Brands Of Worm Contained Canned Fish From The Local Market
An Islandwide raids are being carriedout to withdraw 28 brands of Canned fish which proved as contain worms, from the local.market according to the Sri Lanka Public Health Inspectors Association.
These raids are being carriedout as per the instructions issued by the food control unit of the Health Ministry the Associations has stressed.
These raids which began last May are scheduled to be concluded at the end of this month it has been revealed.

Police Have Arrested A Couple While Transporting A Haul Of Heroin
Police have arrested a couple while transporting a haul of Heroin in a Lorry at Welimada area yesterday (18).
Police have taken into custody 21 Heroin Packets in possession of the suspects and later recovered another 37 packets of Heroin hidden in the lorry .
The two suspects who are residents of Thannekumbura in Kandy are due to be produced before the Welimada Magistrate Court.

A Couple Was Arrested Over The Shooting Of Chief Incumbent Of Kataragama Kirivehera
A Couple believes to be related to the planning of the shooting of Chief Incumbent Of Kataragama Kirivehera Temple Kobawaka Dhamminna Thero and another Buddhist Monk was arrested today (19) at Dikwella area by the officers of Tangalle Divisional Crimes Investigations Division .
The suspected couple had been identified as residents of Vihara Road in Kataragama Nawa nagaraya and the female had identified as a major ally of the plan that created to shoot the Chief Incumbent Og Kirivehera temple .
The couple is due to be produced before the Tissamaharama Magistrate Court tomorrow(20).

A Police Sergent Was Killed And A Constable Was Injured Due To A Road ACCIDENT
A Police Sergent attached to the Matale Police was killed and a Police Constable attached to the same Police was injured and hospitalized after colliding with a Motor Car near Nildiyauyana in Palapathwala last night (19) while engaged in Police mobile petrol service.
The injured Police Constable was admitted to the Matale Base Hospital for treatment.
The accident occurred when a high speed Motor Car run over the two Police officers who had stayed at the road .The Motor car was stopped after colliding with a lamp post nearby it has been reported.All four persons in the car at the time were escape unharmed according to reports.However the Car had severely damaged due to the incident.
The deceased Police Constable was identified as a resident in Dambulla area.
Matale Police have arrested the Driver regarding the accident . The driver has stated the Police that the accident occurred as he had fallen to sleep while driving .

Three Persons Were Injured And Five Houses/Shops Were Damaged Due To A Fallen Tree
Three persons have been injured and three Houses and Two Shops were damaged due to a falling of a Siris (Mara) tree to the Kuliyapitiya-Hettipols road near the Kuliapitiya city as a result of the Adverse Weather in the area this morning (19)it has been reported .
The injured have been admitted to the Kuliyapitiya Base Hospital for treatment.
Distribution Of Locally Made Films To Be Done Through National Film Corporation
The distribution of Local films to be removed from Private Boards and to be done through the National Film Corporation only according to the chairman of the Film Corporation Sithandra Senaratnwe .
Accordingly the right of distributing the Local films vested with four Private Boards will be removed from them and giving sole right of distributing locally made films only to the Film Corporation.

Police Fired Tear Gas And Water Cannons To Disperse Anti SAITM Protest March
Riot Police have fired tear gas and water canons to disperses a group of University students attached to the Inter University Students Federation (IUSF) who conducted an Anti SAITM Protest march near the Parliamentary Roundabout and Speaker's official House this noon (19).
As a result of the firing of Tear Gas and water canons Kindergarten children and public had faced enormous difficulties it has been reported.The action came after the protesters have blocked the road from PARLIAMENTARY Roundabout to Rajagiriya by seated middle of the road according to reports.
Due to the protest march a heavy traffic congestion has been created in and around Borella area.
