11 Corona Deaths Reported Today (30)
A total of 11 Corona deaths had been reported today (30) Increasing the total number of Corona deaths in the country to 678 according to National Covid -19 Prevention Center.
Accordingly 07 males and 04 females resided in Piliyandala ,Wattala ,Dehiattakandiya ,Kelaniya ,Kalutara DivulaPitiya,Paragasthota,Papiliyawala, anuradapura, and Colombo -14 had died due to Covid Pneumonia and complicYions of non communicable diseases they have suffered from The center has stated .
Three Pregnant Females Infected With New Uk Variant Of Corona Virus Are Being Treated At ICU"s -Gynacologists Requested Authorities To Vaccinate Pregnant Females
Three Pregnant females Infected with New Uk corona virus variant spreading in the country are being currently receiving treatment at Intensive care units of three hospitals according to Sri lanka Collage of Gyenacologists .
Accordingly. One of them who is receiving treatment at the Intensive Care Unit of Eastern Colombo Teaching Hospital (Mulleriyawa) is in critical condition and pregnant females in the country should follow Anti coroma health guidelines strictly to avoid severe complications may have occur due to the contagious new Uk variant of Corona virus ,the Collage President Dr Pradeep de silva had stated .
Dr Silva had also requested the authorities to take steps to vaccinate pregnant females with Anti Corona vaccines as the Royal Collage of Gynecologists in United Kingdom too had approved Vaccinating pregnant females with Corona vaccines .
16 Areas Of Two Districts Had Been Isolated Today (30) Due To Corona Surge
Another 16 Grama Niladari Divisions (Rural Development Officer areas ) In the country had bern isolated today (30) with immediate effect due to the surge of Corona cases according to National Covid +19 Prevention Center .
Accordingly 16 Grama Niladari Divisions in Kalutara(15) and Polonnaruwa(01)districts had been isolated .
530 Corona Positives Had Been Recovered today (30)
Another 530 Corona positives had been recovered and discharged from hospitals and treatment centers today (30) according to Epidemeology Unit .
Accordingly the total number of Corona Positives recovered and discharged from. Hospitals and treatment centers so far had risen to 95, 975 the unit has stated.
1636 Corona Positives Had Been Reported Today (30)
A total of 1636 Corona positives had been reported today (30) Increasing the total number of Corona positives reported in the country so far to 108,146 According To National Covid -19 Prevention Center .
At the moment 11,504 Corona positives are being treated at Government Hospitals and treatment centers the Center has stated .

Thirty Two Prison Inmates At Kalutara Prison Tested Positive For Corona Virus
Thirty two prison inmates attached to Kalutara Prison had Been tested positive for Corona Virus according to the National Covid -19 Prevention Center .
Accordingly these prison inmates had been tested positive for Corona virus after performing 40 PCR tests for a group of prison inmates of the prison .
Six Corona Deaths Reported Today (29)
Six Corona deaths had been reported today (29) in the country ,Increasing the total number of Corona deaths reported so far to 667 according to National Covid -19 Prevention Center .
Accordingly five females and a male resided at Boralesgamuwa,Kandy ,Wattala ,Welimada ,Kalutara North and Nawalapitiya areas had died due to Covid pneumonia and complications of the non communicable diseases they have suffered from it has been revealed .
The deceased were of the ages 49,85,37,72,77 and 61 years old it has been revealed .Six Corona deaths had been reported in the country yesterday (28) and Eight deaths had been reported the day before (Tuesday ).
1491 Corona Positives Had Been Reported Today (29)
A total of 1491 Corona Positives had been reported today (29) increasing the total number of Corona Positives reported so far from.the country to 106,484 according to National Covid -19 Prevention Center .
Accordingly at the moment there are 10,378 Corona positives that are being treated at Government hospitals and Quarantine Centers .
Meanwhile authorities have named the cluster of Corona positives currently reporting in the country as New year cluster .

1096 Corona Positives Reported Yesterday (27)
A total of 1096 Corona positives had been reported in.the country yesterday (27) increasing the total number of Corona positives reported so far to 103,482 according to National Covid -19 Prevention Center .
This is the first time that the daily Corona positive tally in the country has been exceeded over 1000 since the Corona pandemic began in the country last March.At the moment 9209 Corona positives are being treated at Government Hospitals and Quarantine Centers it has been revealed .

108 Persons Arrested Yesterday (26) Over Not Adhering Anti Corona Health Guidelines
A total of 108 had been arrested yesterday (26) in various places of the country over violating Anti Corona health guidelines mainly for not keeping one meter distance with others and not wearing a face mask in public places according to Police Media Spokesman Ajith Rohana .
Since 30 th October last year 3755 persons had been arrested under the quarantine law for not following Anti Corona health guidelines he has stated .
The raids in this regard continues police Media Spokesman has stressed .
Two Areas In Galle District Had Been Isolated Yesterday (26)
Two Grama Niladari Divisions at Rathgama Police division in Galle District had been isolated with effect from 8 p.m last Night according to Health Authorities .
Accordingly imbulgoda and Katudampe Grama Niladari Divisions had been isolated due to the surge of Corona cases in those areas the Authorities had stressed. .
Two Areas In Polonnaruwa And Matale Districts Had Been Isolated
Health Authorities had isolated Siriketha Grama Niladari Division (Rural Health Officer area ) at Hingurakgoda in Polonnaruwa District and Ukuwela ,Pallekumburua Grama Niladari Division in Matale District with immediate effect according to the Army Commander General Shavendra De Silva the head of the National Covid -19 Prevention Center

Accordingly the isolation has been imposed in view of the surge in Corona cases in those areas he has stressed
All Schools In Western
The Ministry of Education has decided to close down All government schools .Pre schools and Piriven (Religious Classes ) at Western and North Western provinces until 30 th of April in view of the risk of spreading Corona virus in inhools .
Meanwhile Catholic and International schools too had been closed until 30 th by the authorities in view of the Corona spread in the country .

Government Has Cancelled All State And Private Functions For Two Weeks
Government has today (25) decided to cancel all state and private functions and events organized within next two weeks under the quarantine law in view of the current corona situation in the country the President's office has announced .
Those who are violating these instructions will be punished under the law it has been announced. .
Meanwhile again health authorities had requested the transport authorities to transport Passangers from trains and busses accordance to the number of seats available .
Also under the new Anti Corona health guidelines issued by the Ministry of Covid -19 Control Only limited number of employees in state and private sectors are being Required to report to work on daily basis and authorities should have encourage their employees to work from home as an alternative method .

Former Minister Rishad Baduideen. and His Brother
Police officers attached to Criminal Investigations Department (CID)had today (24) arrested the former Minister Rishad Baduideen and his brother Riyaj Baduideen over supporting and encouraging the assassin's of Easter sunday attacks and had a close relationship with them .
The two suspected were arrested under terrorism prevention act and they are currently being questioned over the Easter sunday attacks .

Authorities Who Had Given Freedom To Public To Break Anti Corona Rules During Festive Season Now Want People To.Cancel.Events
The authorities who had given a total freedom to the public to ignore Anti Corona rules and celebrate Sinhala /Hindu New year with New year festivals and celebrations , Now appealing the public to cancel such events and avoid travelling to other places during this weekend

Accordingly the head of tre National Covid -19 Prevention Center Army Commander General Shavendra De Silva had appealed the general public to cancel any form of Sinhala /Hindu new year festival or a trip organized during this weekend in view of the surge of Corona infections in the country .
Health Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi too made a similar request yesterday (23)during the press briefing held at Government Information Department at ,Narahenpita .
General silva had also stated that travelling between cities under the quarantine law is illegal and prohibited ,However no travel restrictions had been imposed on this regard .
Universities And Tuition Classes To Be Closed Further Due To The Surge Of Corona Cases In The Country
Reopening of all Universities which is scheduled on 27 th of April has been postponed for two weeks due to the surge of Corona cases in the country according to the State Minister of Covid Control Dr Sudarshani Fenandopulle ..Also tuition classes will be closed too until further notice ,However all schools and pre schools will be functioned as usual with the participation of 50 percent of the total student capacity in a class she has stressed .
Meanwhile Sri Lanka Principals Union had requested the Educational authorities to close down all schools in the country for few weeks due to the Corona situation of the country .

Officers attached to Terrorism Investigations Division (TID) had yesterday (22) arrested three persons including the father of the terrorist leader who had carried out Easter sunday attacks Zaharan Hashim at Kakunagolla in ,Kuliyapitiya (North Western province )over attending extremist classes conducted by Zaharan and his followers .
The three suspected are of the ages 40-65 it had been revealed .

Three Sri Lankans Received Oxford Corona Vaccine Died Due To Blood Clots-Health Minister
Six Sri Lankans vaccinated with Oxford -AstraZeneca "Covishield " Anti Corona vaccine had developed blood clots and three of them had died due to it according to Health Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi .
Answering to a question raised by Opposition leader Sajith Premadasa at Parliament today ,Minister has stated that there"s no evidence found to prove that there s a link between blood clots and Corona vaccines .
