Due To The 112 Maternal Deaths Occurred In Sri Lanka On 2014 Their Families Have Faced Difficulties.
Due to the 112 Maternal Deaths occurred in Sri Lanka in 2014 ,188 Children have lost their mothers and 101 Husbands lost their Wives according to the Consultant Community Physician attached to Family Health Bureau Dr.Kapila Jayaratne.
However the number of maternal deaths occurred in Sri Lanka in the year 2014 is the lowest in South Asia he has stressed.
According to a Special Survey carried out by Consultant Doctors in Sri Lanka covering all the island has revealed that Sri Lanka's Maternal Death Ratio is 32.03 Maternal Deaths for 100,000 live births Dr.Jayaratne has said.
Around 70 Maternal Deaths out of the 112 occurred in 2014 are preventable he has further added.

A Special Security Plan Has Been Implemented In Sri Lanka After Considering Activities Of International Terrorist Groups
A special security plan has been already implemented in Sri Lanka after considering the activities of International Terrorist Organizations according to the secretary of Ministry Of Defense Karunasena Hettiarachchi.

Foreign Employment Bureau Has Rescued Ten Persons Kept At A Lodge In Colombo By Foreign Employment Brokers
Ten Persons who were kept at a temporary Lodge in Maradana(In Colombo) area since few months by some Foreign Employment Brokers while promising them that they will be sending abroad for an employment have been rescued by the Special Investigations Unit of Foreign Employment Bureau yesterday(24).
The Investigations Unit have rescued Seven Females and Three Males who were kept at a lodge by the brokers and three foreign employment brokers who are responsible for keeping the above mentioned persons at the lodge have been arrested by the Special Investigations Unit.
The Brokers have been identified as residents of Akkaraipattu(In Northern Province) and Maradana(In Colombo) Areas.
The Brokers have been kept the group of persons by promising them they will be given an employment opportunities in countries like Saudi Arabia and Dubai according to reports.One female rescued from the lodge has been kept there for seven months she has told the foreign employment bureau officials.

At The End Of Last Year 947 HIV/AIDS Positives Had Been Receiving Treatment For The Disease At Government Clinics
The National Sexually Transmitted Diseases/AIDS Control Programme has stated that 947 HIV/AIDS Positives had been receiving treatment for the disease through the Programme's Clinics attached to Government Hospitals island wide at the end of last year(2015).
The Government is providing essential drugs and treatment for Sri Lankan HIV /AIDS Positives free of charge Dr.G ,Weerasinghe attached to National Sexually Transmitted Diseases/AIDS Control Programme has said.
Due to the effectiveness of these drugs discovered recently A HIV/Positive can now survive a normal persons life without any difficulty Dr.Weeeasinghe has stressed.

Sri Lanka Navy Have Arrested Six Local Fishermen With Equipment While Illegally Fishing In Seas Of Trincomalee
Sri Lanka Navy have arrested Six Local Fishermen yesterday(23) along with a Fiber Glass Dinghy(A Kind Of Boat)they were in while engaged in fishing in the seas of Kuchchaweli,Trincomalee (Eastern Province) by using illegal fishing equipment it has been reported.
The Navy Personal attached to Sri Lanka Navy Dockyard who carried out the raid have also arrested two pairs of diving fins and a purse-sein net that fishermen used for fishing .
The arrested local fishermen along with other items have been handed over to Kuchchaweli Police for further investigations.

Around 60 Tea Factories Have Been Closed As A Result Of Dry Weather-Small Tea Estate Development Authority
Due to the Dry Weather Conditions Prevails in most parts of the country at present several plantation's including Tea have been effected badly according to sources.
The Small Tea Estate Development Authority has stated around 60 Tea Factories in the island mostly in Southern and Sabaragamuwa Provinces have been closed down due to the destruction of tea plantations as a result of Dry Weather.
This situation affected the daily income of Small Tea Estate Owners badly the authority has stated.

Draft Bill On Right To Information Was Presented To The Parliament
The much awaited Draft Bill on Right To Information was presented to the Parliament by Minister of Parliamentary Reforms and Mass Media Gayantha Karunathilake this morning.
All Nine Provincial Councils were given positive responses for the Draft Bill to go ahead according to the Government.
The Parliamentary Speaker Karu Jayasuriya has recently informed the Parliament that Six out of the Nine Provincial Councils namely Western,Southern,Eastern,Central,North Western and Uva had agreed with the content of Draft Bill while Three Provincial Councils Sabaragamuwa,Northern and North Central Provincial Councils have agreed to amendments to the Draft Bill.
The Cabinet has approved the Right To Information Bill on 02nd Of December 2015.

A No Confidence Motion against Finance Minister Ravi Karunanayake signed by 37 Joint Opposition MP's has been handed over to the Parliamentary Speaker Karu Jayasuriya this evening.
