Sri Lanka Transport Board Cancel Holidays Of Drivers/Conductors/Technicians In View Of Providing Transport For People Attending May Day Rallies

Image result for sri lanka transport boardThe management of the Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) has decided to cancel all holidays of the Drivers ,Conductors and Technicians attached to the Transport Board with effect from yesterday(28) up to 03rd of May in view of using it's Buses to transport people who are attending May Rallies.

Sri Lanka Transport Board has informed on this decision to it's regional offices as well it has been reported.

A 72 Year Old Bus Passenger Died By Fallen To The Road From A Bus At Galle

A 72 year old Bus Passenger  has died by fallen to  road from the foot board of a  Bus yesterday (28)at Ginthota in Galle District.

This accident has occurred at a Bus travelling from Ambalangoda to Galle it  has been reported.

The Bus Passenger who had fallen to the road was admitted to the Karpitiya Teaching Hospital in critical condition and later he was succumbed to his injuries.

Two Persons Died Due To A Lorry-Motor Bicycle Collision Occurred At Samanthurai

Due to the accident one person has  died at the spot and other person was succumbed to his injuries after got admitted to Ampara Hospital it has been revealed.

The Driver of the Lorry had arrested by the Police regarding the accident. Samanthurai Police are conducting an investigations on the accident.

Image result for ayurvedic drugsThe Ministry Of Health,Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine has instructed the relevant authorities to inspect the Alcohol percentage  of Ayurveda Drug Products available in local market as it has been revealed that the Alcohol Percentage included in most of these products is exceeded the required amount .

The percentage of Alcohol that should contain in an Ayurveda Drug Product is 4% to 4.5%/

All the Ayurveda Drug Products that contains more than the required amount of Alcohol  should be removed from the market Ministry of Health has stated.

CID Has Detained The Person Who Was Alleged As Issued Death Threats To President

The Criminal Investigations Department(CID) officials have today (28) detained a person who was alleged to have issued  death threats to President Maithripala Sirisena through a social networking website on his arrival from Malaysia at Katunayake Babdaranaike International Airport.


The detained person has been remanded until 06th of May after being produced before the Colombo Magistrate Court today(28).

The suspect was remanded after the CID requested the court to remand him as further investigations required regarding the issuing of death threats to President Sirisena.

Sri Lanka To Establish Diplomatic Mission In Ethiopia

Image result for ethiopiaSri Lankan Government has decided to establish a diplomatic mission in Ethiopia according to sources.

The Cabinet too granted it's approval to establish Diplomatic Relationships with Ethiopia  the sources  have stated.

Accordingly Sri Lankan High Commission is due to be established in Ethiopian Capital Adis Ababa where the headquarters of African Union is situated.

Foreign Minister Managala Samaraweera has presented the proposal to the Cabinet on establishing Diplomatic Mission in Ethiopia .

At present Sri Lanka is having diplomatic ties with 38 countries.

A Group Of 21 Indian Fishermen arrested By Sri Lanka Navy At Sri Lankan Seas

Image result for detain clip artSri Lanka Navy with the assistance of Sri Lanka Coast Guard Officers have yesterday(27) detained 21 Indian Fishermen who were illegally fishing in Sri Lankan Waters at  South West of Thalaimannar(In Northern Province) .

 The three fishing boats which  the  Indian fishermen  were travelling in have also taken into the custody  according to reports.

After being produced before the Mannar Magistrate Court the group  of  21 detained Indian Fishermen have been remanded   until 11th of May .
