CID Arrested A Social Media Activist Over Insulting Sacred Tooth Relics Of Buddha

 The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) had yesterday (05) arrested the social  media activist Sepal Amarasinghe over posting comments insulting the sacred tooth relics of Buddha  Dalada Maligawa in Kandy through the social media ..

A Team of CID Officers had arrested the social media activist Amarasinghe at his residence in Bellanwila area after conducting an investigations over his activities accordance to the order of Inspector General of Police,The suspect is due to be produced before the court after questioning him .over the charges leveled against him.

Coastal Guards Had Arrested Five Fishermen With A HaulOf Heroin

 Sea Coastal Guards had taken in to custody five Fishermen along with s haul of Heroin weighing neer 20 kilos  hidden inside the multiple fisheries boat near Mirissa Fisheries harbor yesterday (05),                                                                   

 The Coastal guards had taken the fisheries boat under their custody and questioning the detained fishermen over the incident ,The haul of Heroin recovered from the fisheries boat is estimated as worth around Rs.21 million ,                                 

 

A Cyclist Was Killed Due To Lorry-Van Collision

 A cyclist was killed and three others were injured and hospitalized due to the Lirry -Van collision occurred at  Hitriwala fifth post area on Pasyala-Giriulla Road(North Western Province) last Evening (05).

Accordingly a 59 year old Cyclist was killed and the Both drivers of the Lorry and the Van as well as another person traveled in the Lorry had been injured and hospitalized due to the accident ,The incident has  occurred when the Lorry driver had applied breaks to save the cyclist and at the same time a Van arrived had  hit on the rear side of the lorry .As the result of the collision the lorry had toppled over on the road and the Cyclist had slipped away and gone  under the Lorry and died .the Police have stated.
