Government Will Not Allow To Open Casinos In The Country-Prime Minister Wikramasinghe

The government will not allow any foreign investor to open new Casino Clubs here according to Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasinghe.

Replying to a question submitted  by a businessman in Singapore during the meeting the Singaporean Business Community had with visiting Sri Lankan Prime Minister Wikramasinghe on last Tuesday the Prime Minister has stated that  the Sri Lankan Government's policy is to not getting any support from casino owners for the development process  in the .country

Around Fifteen Sri Lankan Female Workers Employed In Kuwait Returned To The Island Due To Harrasments They Have Faced

Around fifteen female workers who went for foreign employment in Kuwait had returned to the island yesterday (20) due to the various harassments they have faced in their work places.

The foreign employment bureau of sri lanka has made arrangements  for them to returned to the island and transport them back to their homes here.

Matara Magistrate Court Has Passed Capital Punishment For Two Brothers in The Same Family

The Matara Magistrate Court has today (20) passed the death sentence for two brothers in the same family who lives in Akuressa area over a killing of a resident of Akuressa area in 2006.

Both suspects were indicted by the Matara Magistrate Court over the crime they have committed in 2006.


Colombo Chief Magistrate Has Further Remanded The Seven Indian Nationals Detained Over An Intetnational ,Kidney Racket

The Colombo Chief Magistrate Gihan Pilapitiya has today (20) ordered the authorities to further remand the seven Indian Nationals who had been   detained in connection with their alleged involvement in an  International Kidney  Racket operated between Sri Lanka and India, until 03rd of August.

The Colombo Crimes Division which is  investigating  the alleged Kidney Racket had informed the Colombo chief Magistrate when the case was taken into consideration today  that they need some official documents regarding kidney surgeries performed here from the Ministry of Health and the Division has already written to  the Ministry to provide the relevant documents for investigations.

Two Suspects Detained Over The Rugby Player Thajudeen's Murder Have Been Further Remanded

The imprisoned two suspects of the former Sri Lankan Rugby Player Wasim Thajudeen's murder case ,the former Deputy Director General of Health Services (DIG) Anura Senanayake and former crimes OIC of Narahenpita Police Sumith Perera have been further remanded until 03rd of August by the Colombo Magistrate today (20).

The government lawyer has informed the Colombo Magistrate Court during the case  that the investigations regarding former Rugby Player Wasim Thajudeen's murder still con
ntinueing.

Meanwhile the investigators are due to question the police constable who was formally attached to the presidential security division regarding the Thajudeen's murder case.

Important Items With Historical Value Including Pieces Of Pottery Had Found From Polonnaruwa

During the excavations done at number two plot of the "Shiva Temple" in Polonnaruwa (North Central Province)the researchers have found several  items with historical value from the site including  pieces of pottery imported from a foreign country and remains of a crucible it has been reported.

According to the Central Cultural Fund the uncovered items of pottery indicated the international trade links the ancient polonbaruwa kingdom had with foreign countries.

The archeological excavations at the site began in August last year under a five year plan and it will cobtinue until the year 2020.

The excavation work is undrrway under the supervision of Professor of Archeology  Robin Canham in view of finding more information on ancient polonnaruwa kingdom.

A New Building To Be Built For Ministry Of Health At A Cost Of Rs.3.5 Billion

The foundation stone is due to be laid at Castle Street Sports Grounds in Colombo tomorrow (21) evening to build a new sixteen storyed building for the Ministry Of Health ,Nutrition and Indeginous Medicine at a cost of Rs.3.5 billion according to the Ministry sources.

The proposed Ministry Building will be equipped with 600 seat Auditorium and a facility to patk around 100 vehicles inside the building it has been reported.

The building will be constructed from two phases and under the first phase ten storyes due to be constructed and the remaining six storyes will be completed in the second phase.

The proposed building is a concept of Minister Of Health Dr.Rajitha Senaratne and it will be built in view of supplying all health services to the public under one roof The Ministry has stated.

Soon after tbe completion of the building the Health Ministry activities will be shifted there from the current location in Maradana,Colombo.The foundation laying ceremoney will be held tomorrow evening under the patronage of Health Minister and other Ministry Officials.

World Health Organization Is Due To Hand Over A Certificatte To Sri Lanka Tomorrow(21) By Certifying The Elimination Of Filaria From The Country

Image result for filariaThe World Health Organization(WHO) is due to be announced Sri Lanka as a second country in the South East Asian Region which eliminate Filaria Disease from the country tomorrow(21).

A special ceremony is due to be held at the Bandaranaike International Conference Hall(BMICH) tomorrow at 9 a.m to hand over the certificate to Sri Lankan Health Minister Dr.Rajitha Senaratne  by certifying the elimination of Filaraia from Sri Lanka the World Health Organization's Sri Lanka Office has stated.

The WHO's  Regional Director for South East Asian Region Dr.Poonam Kethrapal Singh is due to hand over this certificate to the Health Minister during this ceremony.Maldives is the first country in the region that eliminated  Filaria from the country.

A Group Of Eight Hundred Thirty Ayurveda Doctors Are Due To Be Recruited To Ayurveda Hospitals Which Have Shortage Of Doctors

Image result for ayurveda doctors in sri lankaA group of Eight Hundred Thirty new graduate Ayurveda Doctors are due to be recruited soon to the Ayurveda Hospitals in the island which have severe shortage of Doctors according to the Ministry Of Health,Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine.

Accordingly 736 of these Doctors will be recruited to Hospitals under Provincial Councils and 94 will be recruited to Hospitals under the line Ministry it has been reported.

The Cabinet has already approved these appointments and money too allocated on this regard the Ministry has stated.At the moment the Ministry Of Finance and Provincial Council authorities are discussing on the  way of recruiting these Ayurveda Doctors the Health Ministry has stressed.
