Employees Aattached To 40 Sectors To Launch An Island Wide Strike

 Services belongs to around 40 sectors are scheduled to be launched an Island Wide strike tomorrow (15) against the proposed new tax system introduced by the government.

Employees attached to Health ,Education ,Transport  ,Ports ,Postal .Electricity,Water and University academics are scheduled to be participated this trade union action .

Meanwhile Government has declared several state sectors as an essential services .Those who are involved in trade union actions by violating the gazette noto9fication issued will be severely punished according to the law authorities have stated ,

Examinations Scheduled To Be Held In Schools At Western Province To Be Postponed

 As all essential services in the state sector including teachers ,doctors Railways employees ,Transport employees and Harbor workers are due to launch an Island wide   strike tomorrow (15) against the increased tax system of the government authorities have decided to Cancel all examinations scheduled to be held in schools at Western Province tomorrow .

The exams scheduled to be held in schools attached to Western Province will be held on 21st of March according to the Western Provincial Education Authorities .        

Government Cancelled All Leave Of Railways Employees

 Government cancelled the leave of All Railways Department employees with immediate effect following the decision taken by the Locomotive Railway Engineers Union to launch an Island wide strike  tomorrow(15) against the new tax system introduced by the Government

The General Manager of the Sri Railways Department had advised the Railways Authorities to seeking explanation from the workers who are not reporting to work tomorrow . 

 President Ranil Wikranmsinghe had issued an extra ordinary Gazette Notification on 27th of February by declaring Sri Lanka Railways as ans essential service    .   `
