Police today forcibly removed a group of Buddhist Monks who were staged a Fast Into Death Campaign in front of the Fort Station since yesterday noon demanding the release of Imprisoned Former Army Commander and the Common Presidential Candidate Retired General Sarath Fonseka .Police also removed the Sheds used by these Monks to stage the protest.
General Fonseka who was Imprisoned since last February is due to face the Second Court Martial Trial against him by tomorrow at the Naval Headquarters in Colombo.President Mahinda Rajapaksha appointed a three Senior Army Officers to conduct this trial against the ilegal Arms Procurrement.
