Two Persons Arrested With 2.800 KG Of Kerala Cannabis

Vavuniya Police have arrested two persons with 2.800
Kilo Grammes of Kerala Cannabis in their possession at Vavuniya Bus stop this noon (11).

The suspects who are the ages of 27 and 32 years have awaited a Bus to transport the haul of Kerala Cannabis to KilinochchI at the time of the arrest it has been revealed.

The suspects who are residents of Pulmudai area are due to produce before the Vavuniya District Court.

Authorities Have So Far Discovered Around 100 Facebook Pages With Harmful Content

Authorities have identified around 100
Facebook pages which contains harmful content to the society and a Whats App page running under the name "Muslim" which explaining how to make petrol bombs step by step with an audio it has been revealed.The site has more than 300,000 members it has been revealed.

Police are currently investigating to arrest the administrators of these sites according to sources.

According to the authorities Facebook Company has supported the government to discover these pages with harmful content and anti religious, Hatred and Racist posts and comments and taking action against them.

Criminal Investigation Department (CID) is currently closely working with the Telecommunication Regulatory Authority to discover these harmful  Facebook pages.

Government To Lift The Temporary Blockage Of Social Media Sites After Security Services Confirming The Peace Has Been Restored

Government will take a decision whether to lift the temporary blockage of Social Media sites and Apps
including Facebook and Whats App after the security forces have informed the government that the law and order has been restored and spreading of Racist and anti religious propaganda work  completely stopped in the country   according to the Presidents Secretary Austin Fernando .

Still the government has  not yet decided to lift the temporary blockage of Social media sites he has stated.

Government is considering to introduce a Filter system to prevent posting Racist,anti religious  and hatred posts through  Facebook in future president ''s Secretary has stressed

Meanwhile Minister Of Fisheries Mahinda Amaraweera has said that there's a need to control the Facebook as it spreads bad things in the society rather then doing good.

A Person Has Died After Falling Down From A Bus

A 54 year old person has died after
falling down from a footboard of a Bus while on the way to Madu Church at Iginiyagola,Chilaw area early this morning (11).

The critically injured person was admitted to the Chilaw Hospital and later transferred to the Colombo National Hospital ,However on the way he had succumbed to his injuries.

The accident occurred while a group of Pilgrimage including the deceased  on the way to Madu Church.

Chilaw Police have arrested the Bus driver and Bus was also taken in to custody .

Around 230 Persons Have Been Arrested Regarding Communal Violence In Kandy And Ampara

Around 230 persons have been arrested
from seven areas in the island regarding the communal violence in Kandy and Ampara Districts during the period from last Tuesday (06) up to this morning  (11)according to the Police Media Spokesman SP Ruwan Gunasekare .

Accordingly 161 persons have been arrested in Kandy District and 69 others were arrested in Ampara, Kalmunai, Moratumulle,Mawa thagama,Kuruwita and Badulla.

Meanwhile as the peace has been restored in Kandy District at the moment  all schools in Kandy District which closed last week due to the communal violence scheduled to be re opened tomorrow (12).

Ninety Eight Persons Attended A Church Mass In Jaffna Were Hospitalized Due To A Food Poisoning

Around 98 persons including 45
children  and 53 Adults in Malenchimunei fisheries village at Jaffna Were hospitalized since this morning (11) due to a food poisoning after consuming food provided to them during a church mass held at Saint Anthony's Church in Malenchimunei, Jaffna last night (10).

The 98 persons  who had complained on symptoms including  stomachache and vomiting had admitted to the Kayts Hospital this morning (11).

Health authorities in the area have launched an investigation to find out the cause of the food poisioning as only 98 had  fallen sick although around 700 villagers had  attended the mass.

Five Persons Including Two Females Have Died Due To The Boat They Were In Capsized

Five persons including two females
have died after the boat they were travelling in to pluck Lotus flowers hadelivered capsized in Periyakulam Wewa (River) in Neelaweli this morning (11).

Six persons were in the Boat when it capsized and one youth among them had escaped from the incident  it has been reported.

The deceased were residents of Periyakulam area.Neelaweli Police are investigating on the incident .

Two Teanagers Who Were Arrested Over Posting Racist And Hatred Posts In Social Media Have Been Remanded

Colombo Chief  Magistrate has today
(11)remanded the two Teanage School Boys of the ages 16 and 18 who were arrested over posting posts with Racist and hatred thoughts in Social Media pages   which led to communal violence in Kandy ,until 22 nd of  March .

The two suspects have been ordered to send to the Youth detention center at Makola until 22nd of March under the remand order after they were produced before the Colombo Chief Magistrate .They were arrested by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) last week.

The two Teanagers are residents of Homagama and Minuwangoda areas .

CID has launched an investigation over the activities of two Teanagers. 

Police Have Launched An Investigation Over A Death Of A Wild Elephant

Police have launched an investigation
over a death of a Wild Elephant known as "Walga Kota"(Short Tail)whose body was found in a field at Galapuyaya,In Ethimale area as it believed the Elephant may have  killed by someone.

Several injuries including  gun shots injuries had seen on the deceased Elephant 's body the Police have stated.

The Wild Elephant was chased away to the Jungle by the villagers in Ethimale and Wild Life officials in an earlier occasion when he atempted to enter the village.

Killing of an Elephant is considered as a crime in Sri Lanka.
