Cabinet Has Requested The Justice Minister To Make A Recommendation On EX LTTE Prisoners Who Are In Jail

The Cabinet has yesterday (22) requested the Minister Of Justice Wijedasa Rajapaksha to make  a recommendation on accelerating the Judicial Procedure on Imprisoned   LTTE Cadres Who are accused of engage in Terrorist Activities .

The Cabinet has made this request from Justice Minister after considering a proposal made by Minister of Rehabilitation ,Resettlement and Hindu Religious Affairs D.M Swaminathan ,

President Sirisene Has Appointed Another Three Members To National Police Commission

Image result for national police commission sri lankaPresident Maithripala Sirisene has today(22) appointed two new members to the newly established National Police Commission.Accordingly the former Inspector General Of Police Frank Silva and Senior Administrative Officer Thilak Kollure have been appointed to the Police Commission by President.

The new chairman and members of the National Police Commission have been appointed yesterday(21).The National Police Commission has been established under the 19th Amendment with effect from 14th Of October 2015 and the powers of appointments,transfers,Promotions ,control of discipline and dismissal of  all rank police officers  except Inspector General Of Police  have been vested with the Commission.

Sri Lankan Art Lovers now  able to view a cream of Art Works and Cartoons created by 100 Sri Lankan Veteran Artists and Cartoonist mostly attached to the Media Industry here through the  "Siththaru Andi Roo-3" (Paintings Created By Artists-3) Exhibition and Sale which was  inaugurated today(22) at the National Art Gallery In Colombo.

This Exhibition and Sale Of  Paintings and Cartoons will be held until 25th Of October(Sunday).

This Exhibition will include a large number of Oil Paintings,Poster Paintings,Watercolor,Portrait Paintings,Line Arts and Comic Cartoons created by local artists.A smallest micro Abstract Painting created by  a local artist is also  exhibited at the exhibition  according to organizers.

The new Artists and Art Students will be able to meet  veteran artists at the exhibition and get advise from them.Painting Equipment as well as Comic Books can be purchased for  reasonable and discounted prices through this exhibition and sale.

Excise Department Have Arrested Two Suspects In Possession Of 30 Kilo Grammes Of Kerala Cannabis

The Excise Department Crimes Division Officers have today (22)  arrested Two persons in  possession of 30 Kilo Grammes Of Narcotic "Kerala Cannabis(Ganja)" worth around Rs.6 million at Kodikaman Area in Jaffna District(In Northern Province).

The Excise Department Officials have raided a a place in Kodikaman Area where they have arrested the two suspects along with a stock of "Kerala Cannabis".

The initial inquiries held in this regard have been revealed that the suspects have been imported Kerala Cannabis from Rameshwaram in India through the sea route and hidden at a place at Velvitithurai in Northern Province.

The two arrested suspects have been remanded until 04th of November by Chavakachcheri Magistrate Court after they have been produced before the court today(22).

A Person With 16 Kilo Grammes Of Explosives Has Been Arrested At Mahiyanganaya

Image result for arrestedA 35 year old Person has been arrested today(22) for the possession of 16 Kilo Grammes of Explosives at Dambarawa in Mahiyanganaya Area(In Uva Province) according to Police.

The Suspect who is a resident in Dambarawa Area is due to be produced before Mahiyanganaya Magistrate Court today(22).
