A NEW Zealand War Plane Landed To Mattala Airport
The Crew of the plane is currently taking rest at a Hotel in Hambanthota it has been revealed.
The War Plane which flying from Indonesia to Dubai is due to depart to Dubai tomorrow (10)morning.
A 17 Year Old Student Had Been Critically Injured Due To A Land Mine Explosion
A 17 year old student had been
critically injured and hospitalized after trampling a land mine at a forest area in Muhammalai, Jaffna last evening (08).
The critically injured student who trampled the land mine at an area where land mines are not cleared had been admitted to the Palai Hospital and later transferred to Jaffna Teaching Hospital.
The students hands were severely burnt due to the land mine explosion it has been revealed.

Island Wide Train Strike To Continue
Railway Trade Unions involved in the
Island Wide Strike action have decided to continue their strike until their demand is met according to Trade Unions.
Due to the strike which launched since 3 p.m last evening (08) commuters including office workers,school children and foreign tourists are being faced severe difficulties .
The Railway Trade Unions representing Engine Drivers,Station Masters and Train Guards had been launched the strike without a prior notice as a protest against the Cabinet Decision on cancelling the salary increase of them .
Island Wide Strike action have decided to continue their strike until their demand is met according to Trade Unions.

Two Main Suspects Of The Central Bank Bond Scam Had Been Further Remanded.
The owner of the Perpetual Tresuries Limited Arjun Aloysius and the Chief Executive officer of the Limited Kasun Palisena who were arrested and remanded over the Controversial Central Bank Bond Scam had been further remanded until 23 rd of August by the Colombo Fort Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne today (09).
The two suspects were produced before the court today.
Meanwhile Colombo Chief Magistrate has ordered 13 state and private banks to submit account details of five Institutes belonging to the Perpetual Tresuries Limited by 24 the of this month.
The Lawyers appearing on behalf of the respondents had requested the court to release the Billions of money earned by the Perpetual Tresuries before Bond Scam and banned by the Central Bank.

Three A/Level Stidents Were Injured Due To A Road Accident
Three GCE/Advanced Level Students
who were travelling to their Examination Center at Arangala area to sit for the Advanced Level examination had been injured after the Three Wheeler they were travelling in veering off the road at Kirimatiyana area in Hatton this morning (09).
The injured Students however sat for the today'examinaton paper with their injuries and after the examination they had been admitted to the Nawalapitiya Base Hospital.
One of the injured Students had left the hospital after receiving treatment and other two Students are still receiving treatment at the Hospital it has been reported.
Nawalapitiya Police are conducting an investigations over the incident.

Six Trains Had Left From Colombo Fort Railway Station
Six Trains had left from Colombo Fort
Railway station this evening (09)to six destinations amidst the Island Wide continous strike launched by Several Railway trade unions according to the Main Railway Control Room.
Accordingly these Trains had left to Kandy,Chilaw,Rambukkana,Galle,Awissawella and Mahawa areas.
The first out of these Trains left at 4.30 p.m and the last one left at 6.10 p.m.
The Ministry of Transport had yesterday (08) requested the retired Engine Drivers to report to work with immediate effect to run the Trains as usual.
Meanwhile The Government Information Department has today announced that Eight trains will leave from Colombo Fort Railway station this evening.
