A Person Was Arrested With A Large Haul Of Heroin At Kaduwela
A 53 year old Person was arrested by
the Police Anti Narcotic Bureau officials with 5.24 Kilo Grammes of Heroin in his possession at Kotalawala ,Kaduwela (Western Province ) last night (16 ).
The suspect who is a resident of Obeysekarepura ,Rajagiriya and Kotalawala, Kaduwela was arrested whilst transporting the haul of Heroin in a Three Wheeler. The Three Wheeler was also taken in to custody by Police Officers.
The value of the Haul of Heroin taken in to custody in possession of the suspect is more than Rs. 60 million it had been revealed.
The suspect is due to be produced before Kaduwela Magistrate Court today (17).

year old Romanian Female and a Van driver had been injured and hospitalized after the Van they were travelling in colliding with a Private Bus on Polonnaruwa -Habarana road last evening (16).
The injured Stucked inside the Van had been removed from it by the villagers of the area and admitted to Polonnaruwa General Hospital it has been revealed.
The incident occurred as a result of the Van driver fallen a sleep whilst on the wheel according to Minneriya Police .

A Person Was Killed And Ten Persons Injured Due To A Road Accident At Lunugala
A 48 year old person was killed and Ten
persons including seven males and three females had been injured and hospitalized after the Van they were travelling in veering off the road and fallen in to a 50 feet deep precipice at 24 th Post on Passara-Lunugala road and toppled over to a river in wee hours of this morning (17).
The injured who are members of a same family had been admitted to Lunugala District Hospital and Badulla General Hospital for treatment .
The victims were on the way home at Lunugala after participating a walking out ceremony of a Police officer who is their family member in Colombo at the time of the incident it has been revealed .
Lunugala Police are conducting an investigations over the incident.

Previous Regime Involved in Large Scale Fraudulent Activities By Importing Old "Linear Accelerator "Machines For Cancer Treatment On The Pretext Of New Machines -Health Minister
These Machines had been left out at Maharagama Apeksha (Cancer),Galle and Batticaloa Hospitals without used them according to Media and they had been imported to Sri Lanka through a company by spending a huge amount of public funds Minister has stressed.
The importation of these Machines should be approved by a Medical Consultant ,However above stock of "Linear Accelerator "Machines had been approved by a normal Officer of the Ministry he said .The officer was retired when attempting to investigate on him .
However Current Administration of the Health Ministry has managed to consulted the Company responsible for importing these old machines and make an agreement to provide new Machines replacing old ones this year Minister has further said.

132 Ambulances To Be Distributed Among 132 Hospitals
Ministry Of Health is due to be distributed 132 Ambulances among 132 Government Hospitals throughout the island on this Friday (18) at Colombo Municipal Council premises under the patronage of Health Minister Dr.Rajitha Senaratne.

Police have arrested a 59 year old Fake Ayurveda Practitioner with over 100,000 Narcotic Tablets and capsules in possession during a raid carried out at Weeragula area(Western Province) it has been reported .
The fake Ayurveda Practitioner had practiced at an unregistered Ayurveda Center at WeeasurIya kanda area , Weragula.

Two Persons Had Been Critically Injured Due To A Vehicle Collision
A School Girl and a Three Wheeler Driver had been critically injured and hospitalized after
the Three Wheeler they were travelling in colliding with another Three Wheeler arrived in front at Bawwagama area in Nawalapitiya on Nawalapitiya -Gampola road this morning (16).
The critically injured School Girl and the Three Wheeler Driver had been admitted to Nawalapitiya Base Hospital for treatment and later they had been transferred to Kandy Teaching Hospital for fuhrer treatment .

A Sudden Fire Destroyed A Fuel Bowser And Fuel Station Building With Equipment At Galkulama
Due to a sudden fire occurred in a Fuel Bowser whilst pumping fuel to underneath Fuel Tank
s of a Fuel Station at Galkulama ,Anuradhapura ,the Bowser ,the Fuel Station building,Pumps pumping Diesel and Petrol to vehicles and a large number of LP Gas tanks had been burnt and destroyed today (16).
However the Fire Brigade attached to the Fire Services Department at Anuradhapura Municipal Council had managed to douse the fire spreading in Bowser and avoid a possible explosion it has been reported.
Soon after the fire erupted in the Fuel Station located near the A-9 road,Thirappanai Police officers have arrived in the scene and attempted to douse the fire ,However as they have failed to doing so Fire Brigade was called according to reports.
A group of Army Officers and residents of the area have also assisted the fire fighters to douse the fire.
No casualties had been reported due to the incident and cause of the fire has not yet been revealed.
