Electricity And Water Boards Showing Their Inefficiency By Implementing Several Long Hour Electricity And Power Cuts During Corona Pandamic -Two Long Water Cuts Are Due Today (18)
Two of the most Corrupted institutions
in the Country the Electricity Board and the Water board are currently being involved in Implementing a series of unfair sudden Electricity and water cuts in several parts of the country either with a short notice or without any prior notice it has been reported.
As a part of this programme Electricity Board had implemented an eight hour sudden power cut without any prior notice to the public yestetday (17)at Awissawella Road , Colombo saying it"s due to a repair work of the Electricity lines on that road. Due to this large number of consumers residing in and around the road had faced enormous difficulties .
During this week several electricity cuts like this had been implemented in various parts of the country without a prior notice it has been reported.
The other most Corrupted Institution the National Water Supplies And Drainage Board is scheduled to be implemented two long hour water cuts today (18) one in Colombo suburbs and the other at several divisions In Colombo city by putting the public in difficulties during corona pandamic . Accordingly a 16 hour long Water cut is scheduled to be implemented by the water board from Ambathale to Kolonnawa Urban Council area including Rajagiriya ,Obeysekarapura,Nawala, Koswatta and The main road towards Open university in Nawala and by roads from 2 p.m today until 6 a.m tomortow(19) the water board has stated. The reason given for this water cut is an essential repair work at Ambathale Water purification facility.
Also another 10 hour long water cut is scheduled to be implemented from 8 p.m tonight until 6 a.m tomorrow morning in Colombo -13,14 and 15 divisions and during thst period water supply to Colombo -11 and 12 will be under low preassure .
However authorities had advised public to follow health guidelines to prevent spreading of corona virus including washing hands which seems to be difficult under water cuts like these .

There "s No Community Transmission Of The Corona Virus In Srii Lanka Due To Kandakadu Cluster -But The Risk Is There -Deputy Director Of The Epidemeology Unit
There's no Community transmission of
Corona virus in Sri Lanka due to the Corona Cluster emerged from Kandakadu Drug Rehabilitation Center, But public should have followed Corona Control Health guidelines further as a risk of spreading the virus is still there according to the Deputy Director of Epidemeology Unit Dr.Samitha Ginige .
At the moment all the members related to Kandakadu Corona Cluster and their close contacts had been identified and some of them.are currently being quarantined and those who were tested positive had been hospitalized he has stressed.
However Contact tracing is still there to find out contacts of the close contacts of the members of Kandakadu Cluster Dr.Ginige has stated.
Meamwhile According to the Sri Lanka Public Health Inspectors Union searching the contacts of the close contacts of Kandakadu Corona cluster is continuing in 16 Districts as per the information available .
At the moment all the members related to Kandakadu Corona Cluster and their close contacts had been identified and some of them.are currently being quarantined and those who were tested positive had been hospitalized he has stressed.

Five Corona Positives Discharged From.Hospitals Yesterday (17)After Recovery
A total number of 05 Corona positives
had been cured and discharged from hospitals yesterday (17) according to the Epidemeology Unit .
Accordingly 2012 Corona positives had been discharged from hospitals so far after full recovery .674 Corona positives and 99 suspected cases are being currently receiving treatment in Government Hospitals it has been reported .
Meanwhile 2723 "PCR"Tests had been conducted yesterday in the country to identify Corona positives .Total number of Corona positives performed so far in The country since 18 th of february is 135,519 according to Health Promotions Bureau .

Twenty Two Police Officers And Eight Civilians Attached To ASP Office In Homagama Are Being Quarantined Due To A Corona Positive Contact
As an Army officer attached to the
Kandakadu Drug Rehabilitation Center residing in Kandalanda area in Homagama (Colombo )had tested positive for Corona virus yesterday (17),22 Police officers and 08 Civilians who were close contacts of the Army officers mother are being quarantined according to the Health Authorities.
The mother of the Corona positive Army officer is a Police Constable attached to Office of the Assistant Supirintendent of Police (ASP)in Homagama and as her son was tested positive for the Corona Virus her close contacts of the office are being quarantined it has been revealed.
The Army officer had tested positive for the virus whilst under quarantine at a Quarantine Center .
Ten Corona Positives Reported Today (17)-Nine Of Them Belong To Kandakadu Corona Cluster
A total of 10 Corona positives had been
reported in the country today (17)until 11 p.m,increasing the total number of Corona positives reported from the country to 2697 according to the Epidemeology Unit.
Accordingly 06 inmates of the Kandakadu and senapura Drug rehabilitation centers and 02 of their close contacts had tested positive for Corona virus today and a 12 year old child at Rajanganaya area as well as an arrival From India had also tested positive for the virus .
At the moment 674 Corona positives are being treated in Government Hospitals.
