Speaker Fixed Two Dates To Hold The Debate On No Confidence Motion Against Minister Baduideen
Parliament Speaker Karu Jayasuriya
has today (23)announced in Parliament that 18th and 19th of June as the dates which the no confidence motion submitted against Minister Rishad Baduideen taken in to debate .
However Joint Opposition Group has opposed the naming of those dates to hold the debate and stated the party leaders meeting held to fix a date for the debate has been ended without an agreement.
Meanwhile A 12 member parliamentary select committee has been appointed to probe on the charges levelled against Minister Baduideen headed by Deputy Speaker Ananda Kumarasiri. Speaker Jayasuriya has today informed the Parliament on the members of this committee.

Cabinet Approved A Proposal TO BUILD Two Flyover Bridges
Cabinet has given approval to a
proposal submitted by Minister of road and road developing Kabir Hashim to build two flyover bridges in Kohuwala and Gatambe junctions as a solution for the heavy traffic prevailing in these areas .
These flyover bridges are due to be built through Hungarian government's aid funds and Cabinet has awarded A Hungarian company to build the two flyover bridges with the cost of Euro 52 million .

Sandya Eknaligoda To File A Fundemantal Rights Petitions Against Gnanasara Thero 's Release
Sandya Eknaligoda the wife of the
missing local cartoonist Prageeth Eknaligoda has today (23)revealed that she will file a fundamental rights petit ion in Supreme Court under the provisions of Sri Lankan Constitution against president Maithripala Sirisena's decision in releasing Galagodaatte Gnanasara Thero on Presidential pardon .
Addressing a Media Briefing held in Colombo this evening Sandya Eknaligoda has stressed that she is against The release of Gnanasara Thero .

Galagodaatte Gnanasara Thero Had Been Released On Special Presidential Pardon This Evening (23)
After the release from prison Gnanasara Thero who is a controversial figure in Sri Lanka had left the Welikada Prison this evening surrounded by a large gathering including some Buddhist Bhikkus it has been reported.
Security has been tightened in and out side of the Welikada Prison prior to the release of Gnanasara Thero .
President Maithripala Sirisena has yesterday (22)signed the notification regarding the release of Gnanasara Thero under special Presidential pardon after considering the report received from prison Development Ministry regarding the Thero including his behaviour whilst in prison according to sources .
Gnanasara Thero was sentenced to 19 years rigorous imprisonment to be spent in 06 years over 04 charges including contempt of Court on 18 th of August last year (2018).
