Veteran Popular Cinema and Teledrama Actress Hayacinth Wijerathne had passed away last night (30) due to an accident occurred in Lindula ,Nuwara Eliya area .She was 75 years old at the time of her death ,

She has died after the Van she was travelling in from Nuwara Eliya to Colombo after a Tele drama shooting had fallen in to a 200 feet deep precipice at Lindula area according to reports ,

The driver of Van had been arrested by the Police over the incident and he had been later remanded after producing before the court until 03rd of August ,

The questions risen after her sudden demise are As an elderly person why she had travelled so far for a Teledrama shooting amidst Corona pandemic and at a time Inter Provincial restrictions are enforced . Law should be equal to all.

2150 Corona Positives Had Been Reported So Far Today (31)

Health Authorities had today (31) announced the number of Corona positives reported from the first batch of "PCR " and Rapid Antigen tests conducted yesterday as 2150 .However the results of the second batch of Tests were not yet been revealed and with the number of Corona positives announced so far the total number of Corona Positives reported up to now had been increased to 308,812 according to Director General Of Health Services ,

At the moment 27,134 Corona positives are being treated at Government Hospitals and quarantine centers it has been revealed .

61 Corona Deaths Reported Today (31)-Majority Of Them Were Females

A total of 61 Corona Deaths had been reported in the country today (31) increasing the total number of Corona deaths reported so far to 4,441 according to Director General Of Health Services ,

Out of the deceased 36 were females and 25 were males it has been revealed ,Majority of the deceased which is 42 were over 60 years old and 19 were belonged to 30-60 year group ,

A Stock Of 728,460 Doses Of "Oxford -Astraseneca Covishield " Vaccine Brought To Sri Lanka This Evening (31)

A Sri Lankan Airlines Flight had brought 728,460 doses of Oxford -Astraseneca "Covishield " vaccine Japanese Government had donated to Sri Lanka under the "Covax " facility of the World Health Organization ,

This stock is being scheduled to be used to vaccinate little more than 540,000 persons who had already received the first dose of "Covishield " vaccine and the rest of the stock is scheduled to be sent to a Anti Corona vaccination programme in Kegalle Health authorities had been revealed ,This is the largest consignment of Corona vaccine doses received to Sri lanka under the " Covax " faculty so far according to the WHO office in Colombo ,

Japan is scheduled to be donated a total of 1.45 million doses of "Covishield " " Vaccine to Sri Lanka under "Covax " facility and the rest of the stock is due to arrive in Sri Lanka on 07 th of August according to Health Authorities .

Meanwhile stocks received to Sri lanka from "Pfizer " ,Moderna and "Sputnik " vaccines had been sent to Central Province and Mannar recently without distributing them to MOH Offices in Western Province it has been reported ,At present all the MOH offices and vaccine centers are giving Chinese vaccine "Sinopharam " and many had refused to take it according to reports ,

Authorities Had Released All Isolated Villages From Isolation By Today (31)-General Shavendre De Silva
