Government has decided to pay the salary of Government service employees for the month of April this Monday (10) due to the forthcoming Sinhala/Hindu New year festival .According to the Ministry of Finance the salary of Government service employees for the month of April will be released for their bank accounts on Monday ,
The Special Police Task Force Personal (STF) had arrested the main aide of the leader of an Organized Crimes Gang Ganemulla Sanjeeva, known as "Vidda" and two others in possession of 24 Grammes and 500 Miligrammes of Heroin in front of Kadawatha Bus Stand yesterday (06) .
They were arrested whilst transporting heroin through a Van it has been reported.STF Personal had also taken into custody another 15 grammes and 300 Mili grammes of Heroin in possession of the van driver .
Ganemulla Sanjeeva is responsible for three previous murders it has been revealed .
President Ranil Wikramsinghe has extended the service of Inspector General of Police (IGP) C.D Wikramaratne for another three month period according to the President's office.
According to the Extraordinary Gazette Notification issued by the President's Secretary Saman Ekanayake the service of IGP has been extended for a three month period with effect from 26th of March 2023 ,
As a result of the reduction of Gas prices ,The prices of Rice pack,Kottu Rotty and Plain Tea were slashed with effect from last Wednesday(05) according to the All Ceylon Bakery Owners Association .
Accordingly the price of Rice pack was reduced by Rs.60,Kottu rotty was reduced by Rs.100 (new price is Rs.400) and Plain tea by Rs.10( new price is Rs.30 ) .
The Bakery Owners had stated that they are not in a position to reduce the prices of Bakery products as a result of the reduction of Gas prices .
According to the All Ceylon Bakery Owners Association `Bakery owners will consider the reduction of Bakery products after receiving eggs for Rs.35 the Association has stated .
