A Female Had Committed Suicide By Jumping In To Kothmale Reservoir

A Female had committed suicide yesterday(06) by jumping into the Kothmale Reservoir according to Police.

The whereabouts of the female and the reason behind her suicide  not yet revealed.The body of the deceased female has been taken to the Nuwara Eliya Hospital for post mortum,

The Thalawakale Police are conducting Investigations on the incident.

Police Narcotics Bureau Has Arrested A Pakistani National With Heroin In His Possession

The Police Narcotics Bureau has yesterday(06) arrested a Pakistani Male with around 1 Kilo Gramme Of Heroin in his possession at Galle Road in Colpetty(In Colombo).

The 55 year old suspect is due to be produced before Colombo Fort Magistrate Court.The raid to arrest Pakistani Male has been carried out as per the information  received by Police Narcotic Bureau.

Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj H

The visiting Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj had met Sri Lankan President Maithripala Sirisena yesterday (06) at President's House and held discussions on bi lateral issues including the government's reconciliation process and development activities .

During the Discussions President Sirisena thanked India for it's support offer to Development Process in Sri Lanka.

Meanwhile the Indian External Affairs Minister had met the leader of the main opposition and Tamil National Alliance(TNA) R.Sampnathan and few Parliamentarians and discussed the current political situation in Sri Lanka and the Indian Fishermen's Issue according to reports.

During the talks the opposition leader Sampanthan has requested the Minister Swaraj to stop the bottom trawling use by   Indian Fishermen in Sri Lankan Seas.

Regional Intellectual Forum And Sessions Of Asia-Pacific Fisheries Commission To Be Held In Colombo

The 06th Regional Intellectual Forum and 34 th Session Of Asia-Pacific Fisheries Commission will be held in Colombo from 08th to 14th of February according to Government Information Department.

Under this the 06th Regional Intellectual Forum Of Of Asia-Pacific Fisheries Commission will be held from 08th to 12th of February and the 34th Session of the Commission will be held from 12th to 14th of February.

Over 100 Consultants and Investors belongs to Fisheries Sector of 21 Countries are due to be participated this Forum and Sessions which will be held under the patronage of Minister Of Fisheries And Aquatic Resources Mahinda Amaraweera.

President Has Instructed The Director General Of Health Services To Air Lift The Out Of Stock Essential Drugs Needed For Kidney Patients

DrugsPresident Maithripala Sirisena has today (06)instructed the Director General Of Health Services Dr.Palitha Mahipala to Air Lift the essential drugs needed for Kidney Patients which are reported as  out of stock at  Hospitals in Anuradhapura District (In North Central Province) these days according to Dr.Mahipala.

There are reports that some essential drugs needed for Kidney Patients are out of stock in Anuradhapura District Hospitals these days.To check the situation the Director General Of Health Services had visited the Hospitals in Anuradhapura today(06).

UN Human Rights Commissioner Has Arrived In Sri Lanka-A Protest March Held Against His Arrival

un human rights commissioner සඳහා පින්තුර ප්‍රතිඵලThe United Nations High Commissioner For Human Rights Prince Zeid Raad Al Hussain has arrived in Sri Lanka today(06) for a four day official visit.

During his tour the UN High Commissioner For Human Rights will hold talks with government leaders,ministers , civil society and religious leaders.

As a protest against the arrival of UN Human Rights Commissioner a group of protesters led by leader of Jathika Nidahas Peramuna MP Wimal Weerawansha had staged a protest march towards UN Office in Sri Lanka at Bauddhalaoka Mawatha ,Colombo-07 this morning.

Security had been tightened in front of the UN Office in Colombo due to the protest.

Police Have Arrested Six Youth At "Sri Pada"Rock With Cannabis In Their Possession

The group of detained youth who are in 18-21 year age group have been remanded until 08th of February after being produced before Acting Magistrate in Hatton(In Up Country).

The youth are residents of Nugegoda,Divulapitiya and Demmulla Areas.
