Health Minister Instructed Newly Appoointed Chairman Of Drug Authority To Prepare A Mechanism To Reduce Drug Prices

Image result for medicinal drugsMinister of Health,Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine Dr.Rajitha Senaratne has yesterday(20) instructed the newly appointed chairman of Independent Drug Regulatory Authority Professor Asitha De Silva to prepare a mechanism to reduce prices of medicinal drugs in the country within next three month period.

As the two professors who hold the positions of chairman and chief executive officer of the Drug Regulatory Authority previously not able to prepare such a mechanism to combat drug mafia in the country the prices of drugs escalated during their period by 40% the Health Minister has stated.

The Minister has urged the newly appointed chairman of the Authority to introduce a mechanism to reduce the escalating prices of drugs in the country so the government can save millions of rupees which spend to purchase drugs for higher prices.

Bribery Commission Has Detained OIC Of Mount Lavinia Police While Accepting Rs.20,000 From A Female

Image result for DETAINEDThe Bribery Commission Officials have  detained the OIC Of Special Crimes Investigations Unit in Mount Lavinia Police for allegedly taking a sum of Rs.20,000 from a female as a bribe.

The detained OIC had demanded the female who is a resident in Kalubowila  a sum of Rs.100,000 to arrest an individual it has been reported.The Bribery Commission Officials have detained the OIC while accepting Rs.20,000 out of the demanded sum of money.

Five In The Same School Detained And Remanded Over Molesting A School Girl And Helping The Molestation

Image result for DETAINEDA male teacher along with the Principal,Vice Principal and two female teachers attached to a school in Kodikamam ,Jaffna were detained and produced before Chavakachcheri(In Jaffna) Magistrate Court yesterday(20) over a molesting of a 11 year School Girl multiple in multiple occassions by a Science Teacher of the School.

The School Girl who had faced sexual harassment from 46 year old Science Teacher of the School had informed it to her friends and they have informed it to the School's Vice Principal and two female teachers of the School but they have covered the incident without taking an action against the accused teacher it has been revealed.

Afterwards the School Girl had informed her parents regarding the molesting incidents and although the parents confronted with school principal over the incident principal has not taken any action against the accused.As principal not taken any action against the accused teacher ,girl's parents were lodged a complaint on the incident at Child Protection Authority and accordingly the Police have detained the accused Teacher along with school principal,vice principal and two female teachers for covering the incident.

After considering the facts against them the Chavakachehcri Magistrate Court has remanded them until 01st of July.

Colombo High Court Granted Bail To Former Additional Magistrate Thilina Gamage Over Keeping An Elephant Calf In His Possession Ilegally

Image result for colombo high courtThe Colombo High Court has today(21) granted bail to former Additional Magistrate Thilina Gamage after he appeared before the court today on the charges of keeping an elephant calf ilegally in his possession without a valid permit.

The former Additional Magistrate has appeared before Court following a revised application filed by Colombo High Court under the advise of Attorney General by seeking to annul the Nugegoda Magistrate's bail order on the former Magistrate.

Thilina Gamage who was surrendered to the Nugegoda Magistrate Court on 02nd of June over the charges of keeping an elephant calf ilegally in his possession was granted bail by Magistrate on the same day.
