Cement Companies Increased The Cement Price
Accordingly the new Price of a Cement Bag is Rs.1095.Consumer Affairs Authority has given approval to increase the Cement price according to sources .
The reason behind the price increase has been identified as the import cost.
Imported Milk Powder Does Not Contain Pork And Vegetable Oils As Stated By Some Sections-Health Minister
Milk Powder imported to Sri Lanka from New Zealand does not contains Pork and vegetable oils as stated by some sections according to the tests done at Labs attached to the Ministry Of Health ,Health Minister Dr.Rajitah Senaratne.
Milk Powder issue should not be made a political issue ..Sri Lanka produces only 10 percent of the required amount of liquid milk in the country whilst 90 percent of Milk supply comes through the Milk Powder imported from other countries "Minister has stressed.
Without improving Liquid Milk industry in the country Politicians should not trying to spread false massages like Imported Milk Powder contains external oils .Tests carried out by the Health Ministry labs assured Milk Powder imported from New Zealand only contains Milk and fat .Everyone should have accepted the test results proved scientifically " Minister has stated.
According to Dr.Senaratne ,Can ban Importing of Milk Powder,But without fulfilling the liquid milk requirement of the country a problem will rise on the Milk supply of the Children'.
Health Minister has also said he has suggested Prime Minister Ranil Wwikramasinghe to adapt a plan similar to the one adapted by Amul Company in India to popularize liquid Milk in rural areas.
A Person Was Arrested With 580 Kilo Grammes Of Waste Tea
A Person Was arresred with around 580
Kilo Grammes of waste tea at a waste tea store maintaining at a rented house in Wanawasala area ,Kelaniya last evening (16) by the police officers attached to Crimes Investigations Unit of the Paliyagoda Police .The store is responsible for distributing waste tea to several areas in Colombo including Kelaniya and Paliyagoda according to reports .
The suspect along with the stock of waste tea taken in to custody are due to be produced before the hulftsdorf court .

at his Cannabis Cultivation maintains in a Wild land with 2000 Cannabis plants at Mahalanda in Koslanda area last night (16)during a Police raid carried out there it has been reported.
The suspects is a resident of Thanamalwila area and due to be produced before the court .
Police are due to keep some Cannabis plants at the cultivation as case items and destroy the rest according to sources .

A Female Has Died And Six Injured Due To A Road Accident
A 46 year old female has died and six
others had been injured and hospitalized after the Van they were travelling in veering off the road and toppled over on Thanamalwila -Udawalawa road yesterday (16).
The seven injured persons including four females had been admitted to Thanamalwila Hospital for teatment and the critically injured female had succumbed to her injuries on admission to Hambanthota Base Hospital .
The deceased female was a resident of yatiyanthota area.

A Maximum Retail Price To Be Imposed On Nadu And Samba Rice Varieties
Accordingly the maximum Retail price of a Kilo of Nadu rice will be Rs.80 and a Kilo of Samba Rs.85 with effect from 01st of April.
Ministey of Agriculture is expecting to purchase a Kilo of Nadu rice for Rs.38 and a Kilo of Samba rice for Rs.41 according to Minister Of Agriculture P.Harrison.
Annual Free Postal Allowance Of MP's And Provincial Councillors Had Been Doubled -JVP Opposed The Move
The free Annual Postal Services
allowance provided to Parliamentarians and Provincial Councilors had been doubled through an extra ordinary Gazette Notification issued by Postal services and Muslim religious Affairs M.H.A Hakeem.
Accordingly the Annual Postal services allowance of Parliamentarians had been increased from Rs.175,000 to Rs.350,000 and the allowance of Provincial Councilars had been increased from Rs.24,000 to Rs.48,000.
The newly increased allowance will be provided with effect from 16th of January 2018 and Cabinet has also approved the increased allowance has been revealed
However Leftist Janatha Wimukthi Peramuna (JVP)has criticised the move by saying it is hard to believe that postal allowance of MP"s need to increase by such an amount as due to the new technology adapted by the Postal services the amount need to spend for that has been decreased .
JVP Has also stressed the need to look in to whether the MP's are utilising the Postal allowance provided to them annually correctly.
