Imprisoned Convener Of The Medical Faculty Students Action Committee Had Been Further Remanded

The imprisoned convener of the Medical Faculty
Srudents Actions Committee Ryan Jayalath has been further remanded until 30th of August by the Maligakande Chief Magistrate Court

The medical faculty students  Action Committee convener was arrested by Colpetty police as the court issued a warrant to arrest him over not appearing a court case filed against him on organizing anti SAITM Protest campaign inconveniencing the public.

Education Minister Instructed Examination Commissioner General To Appoint A Consultant Committee

Minister Of Education Akila Viraj Kariyawasam has
instructed the Examinations Commissioner General to appoint a Consultant Committee to recommend steps to be taken to avoid examination frauds by using modern equipment.

Minister has advised the Examinations Commissioner to take steps to implement the meassures recommend
ed  by the committee as well as to check the stufents entering to examination centers thouroughly.

Five Students Were Killed After The Boat They Were Travelling In Capcized In Jaffna

Five students were drowned and killed and one
student went missing after the boat they were travelling to mandathivu island in jaffna to face G.C.E Advanced level examination  today (28) in Jaffna was capcized  today (28).

Bodies of five out of the six students travelling in the boat have been recovered and they had been identified as residents of nallur,jaffna,kokuvil and urumpirai areas.

A search operation has been launched in search of the missing student.

Former UPFA MP Sajin Vaas Was Questioned By FCID

Former minister and MP of the governing United
Peoples Freedom Alliance (UPFA)sajin vaas gunawardane had given a statement to the Police financial crimes investigation division (FCID) this morning (28)regarding an allegation leveled against him during previous regime.

Accordingly former MP Gunawardane had been questioned over an irregularities occurred when  purchasing two Air buses to Mihin Lanka Airlines during the previous regime.

Water Supply To Ten Areas In Colombo Has Been Suspended

Due to a bursting of a main pipe line supplying water
to  labugama and kalatuwawa water refineries ,water supply to ten areas in and around Colombo  has been suspended until 4 a.m tomorrow (29) according to the National Water supplies and drainage board .

Accordingly water supply has been  suspended to Maharagama,Kottawa,Boralesgamuwa,Kottawa,Pannipitiya,Rukmalgama,Maththegoda,Meepe,Homagama and Padukke areas.
