Former President's Chief Of Staff Gamini Senerath And Two Others Acquitted
The Tribunal Judge panel of the Special Petmanant High Court had yesterday (08)acquitted and the Chief of staff of Former President Mahinda Rajapakshe ,Gamini Sedara Senerath and two others from all charges including allegedly misappropriating Rs.500 million belonging to Litro Gas Lanka limited.
Charges have been levelled against the three Persons including Gamini Senerath over misappropriating Rs.500 million belonging to Litro Gas illegally.Delivering the verdict the The Tribunal Judge panel chaired by High Court Judge Sampath Abey Koontz had stated the complainants have not been able to provide the charges without a doubt .
Sri Lankan Airlines Suspended It's Flights To Cochin In India Due To Floods
The Sri Lankan Airlines Flights from Katunayake ,International Airport to Cochin in South West Coast of India had been temporarily suspended until 11 th of August due to the floods prevailed in Cochin the Sri Lankan Airlines has announced.Due to the heavy showers prevailing in Cochin area also known as "Kochi" the Airport Authorities in India have decided to suspend all flight operations at Cochin Airport unil 3 p/m on 11th of August it has been revealed .
Court Of Appeal Had Issued An Interim Order Preventing Obstructions Against Disposing Colombo Garbage To Aruwakkalu Garbage Dump
As the Garbage Capacity in Kerawalapitiya Garbage Dump where the Garbage collected in Colombo District has been disposed had fulfilled ,Ministry of Megapolis and Western Development had suspended the disposal of Colombo Garbage to Kerawalapitiya Dump last Monday (02).Since than Garbage in Colombo City had been collected in roadsides causing a bad smell ,
However today (09) Colombo Municipal Council had began disposing the Garbage collected in Colombo Roads to Aruwakkalu Garbage Dump .
A Warrant Was Issued To Arrest Former Central Bank Governor Arjuna Mahendren
The Three member Judge Panel had also ordered the authorities to issue the arrest warrant against former Central Bank Governor in English Language .
The arrest warrant was issued accordance to a request made by the Additional Solicitor General Priyantha Navana who had appeared in the court behalf of the Attorney General Dappula De Livera in an earlier occasion to issue an arrest warrant against Mahendren .
Indictments had filed against the Former Central Bank Governor over incurred a loss of more than Rs.680 billion to the Central Bank from a large scale fraud when issuing of Treasury Bonds iu 2015 .
When the case taken in to consideration today seven out of ten suspects of the Bond scam had appeared before the court .
