North Western Provincial Councilor Was Arrested Over Verbally Abusing Zonal Educational Director

The Puttalam (In North Western Province) Police have yesterday(17) arrested North Western Provincial Council UPFA Member N.T.M Thahir for allegedly verbally abusing and attempting to assault the Puttalam Zonal Educational Director Sarath Wijesinghe .

The accused Provincial Councilor has been arrested after he appeared before Puttalam Police yesterday afternoon with his two attorneys.

Sea Route Trains From Colombo Fort To Mount Lavinia To Be Run On A Single Track For Four Days From Today(18)

Due to a reconstruction work the Trains of the sea  route between Colombo Fort To Mount Lavinia will be running only on a Single Track for four days beginning from today(18) according to Sri Lanka Railways Department.

Due to a Reconstruction Work of the Railway Bridge between Colombo Fort and Mount Lavinia and establishing of a new bridge the Sea Route Trains will be running on a single track from today up to 22nd of March the Railways Department has announced.

Colombo Chief Magistrate Issued A Notice To Sri Lanka Ports Authority Chairman To Appear Before Court On 24th Of March

The Colombo Chief Magistrate has yesterday (17) issued a notice to the Sri Lanka Ports Authority Chairman Dhammika Ranathunge the Brother of Minister Arjuna Ranathunge to appear before the court on 24th of March for allegedly threatening Electronic Media Journalists at the Colombo High Court Premises on Wednesday(16).
The Electronic Media Journalists who have faced  threats have lodged a complaint at Keselwatte Police against the Sri Lanka Ports Authority Chairman.

Three Brother Of The Same Family Has Been Sentenced To Death Over An Abduction,Rape And Murder Of A Girl In Norton Bridge

Image result for court order clip artThe Nuwara Eliya High Court has yesterday(17) sentenced three brothers of the same family to death for  an abduction,rape and murder of a girl in August 2009 at Alu Oya,Norton Bridge Area(In Up Country).

The suspects aged 24,32 and 35 were arrested by the Police regarding the crime on 03rd of August 2009 and they were sentenced to death by the Court after found guilty for the crime.

MP Namal Rajapakshe the eldest son of former president Mahinda Rajapakshe has yesterday(17)given a statement to Police Financial Crimes Investigations Division regarding an allegation leveled against him on a financial transaction with a real indian estate company "Krish"Group for a proposed Shopping and Housing Complex in Colombo.

Heavy Traffic Reported From Town Hall Due To A Joint Opposition Rally

Heavy Traffic has been reported from Town Hall and surrounding areas in Colombo this evening due to the protest march and Public Rally in Hyde Park organized by the Joint Opposition Group  in Parliament which supporting the former president Mahinda Rajapakshe.

The traffic lasted few hours according to Police.

The former president Mahinda Rajapakshe has arrived at the Joint Opposition Rally  which is currently underway  at  Hyde Park in Colombo one hour ago it has been reported.
