Heavy Showers Caused The Overflowing Of Nilwala And Ging Rivers
Due to the heavy showers prevailing in most parts of the country at present Ging and Nilwala Rivers are overflowing and the water levels in Kelani and Kalu Rivers are nearing the overflowing level according to the Disaster Management Center.People living in low land areas near Kelani and Kalu rivers should be vigilant on the situation the Center has stated.
The Nilwala river is currently overflowing through panadugama area and Ging River overflowing through Baddegama area according to the reports.
Most places and roads in Galle are being sub merged since yesterday(24) as a result of the current rainy weather.

Two Youths Were Killed Due To A Motorcycle-Bauser Collision
A 18 year old boy and a 16 year old girl were killed after the Motorcycle they were riding in colliding with a Bauser in Udugampala area on Nayiwala-Divulapitiya main road this morning(24).
The deceased had been identified as residents of Udugampala area.

The Female Anaesthetist Attached To Nuwara Eliya Hospital Believed To Be Killed Her Self By Injecting A Drug
The female Anaesthetist whose body had been
recovered from her official residence in Nuwara Eliya Hospital believed to be killed her self by injecting an Anaesthetic drug it has been reported.
Blood samples and parts of stomach taken out from the 32 year old deceased doctor's body had sent to the government analyst and to the Medical Research Institute in Borella for further investigations.
The post mortum of the deceased doctor is due to be conducted by a judicial medical officer in Kandy Teaching Hospital.

The haul of Heroin was concealed in a secret part built in the deep of the luggages belonging to the suspects who arrived in Sri Lanka from Karachchi,Pakistan.
The estimated value of the haul of Heroin detained is around Rs.40 million it has been revealed.

Police have fired tear gas and water cannons to disperse a group of parents belongs to the Medical Faculty Students Parents Association who attempted to march forcibly towards the Presidential Secretariat in Colombo against Malabe Private Medical Collage(SAITM) this evening(24).
As the protest march proceeds, Police have closed the Lotus Roundabout to prevent protesters from marching towards Presidential Secretariat .
As the Protesting Parents of Medical Students demanding an official of the Presidential Secretariat should visit them and Police officers not agreed to their demand,Protesters attempted to clear the road blocks and march along the Lotus Road towards the Secretariat.

A Three Storied Shop In Baddegama Damaged Due To A Fire
A Three storied shop selling building materials in Kumme,Baddegama(Southern Province) city had severely damaged with the materials due to a sudden fire erupted there last night(23).
The fire was doused by the fire brigade in Galle with the help of Ceylon Electricity Board and the residents of the area this morning(24).
The cause for the fire has not yet been revealed and the cost of the damage done to the property not yet estimated .

Airport Customs Arrested A Chinese Female With A Stock Of Wallapatta
Airport customs officers have arrested a Chinese Female attempted to smuggle a stock of an expensive "Wallapatta"("Gyrinops Walla") out of the country in Katunayake ,Bandaranaike International Airport.
The estimated value of the stock of Wallapatta which use to manufacture expensive perfumes is around Rs.1,2 million according to the customs.
