106 Corona Positives Mainly From Kandakadu Corona Cluster Had Been Reported Yesterday (12)

A total number of 106 Corona positives

had been reported yesterday  (12)in the country mainly from the Kandakadu Corona cluster according to the Epidemeology Unit .

Accordingly the total number of Corona positives reported so far had been increased to 2617 the unit has stated .

Out of the 106 Corona positives reported yesterday  (12) 76 were prison inmates transferred from Kandakadu Drug rehabilitation Center to senapura Rehabilitation Center and 14 were attached to the Kandakadu center.

Another 06 Corona positives had been identified from Rajanganaya area who are close contacts of the Kandakadu prison inmates .

An Army Major is among those attached to Kandakadu center who were tested positive for Corona virus yesterday 

Another 05 arrivals of Belarus ,02 from Iran  02 from Bangladesh and 01 arrival of Ubited Arab Emotates had tested positive for Corona virus it has been reported .

Several people who have close  contacts with Kandakadu prison inmates and instructors who had tested positive for Corona virus are being quarantined in many areas of the country.

At the moment 625 Corona positives are being treated in Government Hospitals.  

Postal Voting In Rajanganaya Divisional Secretariet Had Been Postponed Due To Corona Positives

Rajanganaya Divisional Secretariet in Anuradhapura District for the forthcoming General Election has been cancelled after few Corona positives belonging to the Kandakadu Corona virus cluster had been  found in the area according to the Rajanganaya Divisional Secretary. 

The National Elections  Commission is scheduled to be announced a fresh date for the postal voting at Rajanganaya later he has stared.

A special SrI Lankans Airlines   flight

had yesterday (12)brought back 185 Sri Lankans stranded in Maldives due to the Corona pandamic, to Sri Lanka it has been reported.

All these Passangers are  employed at  Tourist Hotels in Maldives ."PCR "tests  were performed for these Passangers Along with the  flight 's cabin crew at the newly built lab in Katunayake Airport.

Afterwards they were transported to nearby hotels Untill receiving test results .

All Schools In The Island To Shut Down From Monday (13)to Friday (17)

Education Ministry has decided to Shut

down All Government ,private ,international, Catholic schools ,Tution classes and Privena"s (Buddhist religious  education centers)  from tomorrow  ( 13) until this Friday  (17) to avoid affecting these institutions due to the Kandakadu Corona cluster the  Ministry has  announced .

Accordingly Government had decided to close down all Government schools from tomorrow until this Friday and  advised other institutions to  follow this procedure the  Ministry  has stated.

Education Ministry has taken the  decision to shut down Schools and other Educational Institutes for a five day period following the  discussions held between the Education Minister Dallas Alahapperuma and   education authorities  today and considering the guidelines of Health and security sectors .

Navy Had Arrested Four SrI Lankans Attempted To Enter Sri Lsnka From India Illegally

Sri Lanka Navy have arrested four SrI

Lankans residing in Northern Sri Lanka  who were attempted to enter Sri lanka from India by a Dinghy Boat via sea route this morning (12) near tgobdamanaru area  ,Jaffna .

As one of the suspects had shown corona infection symptoms that person was admitted to the Jaffna Teaching Hospital for a "PCR "test to check their corona status and other three Persons too are being self isolated according to the Navy .

Accordingly two persons arrested  are  residents of point Pedro in Jaffna and  provided the Dinghy Boat to transport other two persons who are residents of valvitithurai and Mulathivu to Sri LANKA from India. One of them was a former LTTE Maer it has been revealed .
Navy petrol boat has seen the Dinghy Boat and taken steps to arrest the suspects.
