Next Monday Has Been Declared As A National Day Of Mourning And A Public Holiday

 Ministry of Public Adminidtration and Home affairs  had declared next Monday (19)as s National day of mourning And a Public holiday for the state sectot to mark the Royal Funeral of Queen Elizabeth the second .


However an  Essential services are being msintained as usual on that day the Ministry has announced.

Actress Damitha Abeyratne Had Been Released On Bail

 Local actress and one of the leading activists involved in Galle face protest and 'Go gotagama  ' campaign Damitha Abeyratne who was arrested by the Colombo North Police had been released on bail yesterday (12)by the Colombo Fort Magistrate Thilina Gamage .


The Colombo Fort Magistrate had ordered to release the local Actress Damitha Abeyratne on two surety bails of Rs.500,000 each .The actress was arrested by the Police on 07th of September after being participated a Black hour protest against the government held at Diyatha uyana in Battaramulle over the charges of forcibly entering the Presidential secretariat on 09th of July .She was earlier remanded until 14th of September .  

Cabinet Approved A Proposal To Utilize US Dollars 10 Million Received For Two Projects ,To Purchase Drugs

 Cabinet had approved a proposal submitted by the President Ranil Wikramasinghe as the Finance Minister to utilize 10 million US Dollars received for two projects , to purchase essential drugs and medical equipment for the hospitals the acting Cabinet spokesman and Minister of Industries and Plantation Industries Dr.Ramesh Pathirana had stated 





Accordingly US Dollars 7 million received for Colombo City development project and US Dollars 3 million received for a project on reducing disasters will be utilized to purchase drugs and medical equipment he has stressed .

Around One Third Of Hotels and Cafes Had Shut Down Due To Flour/Eggs and Fish Shortage

 Around 10,000 Hotels and Cafeterias island wide  had been shut down due to the severe shortage of flour ,Eggs and Fish according to the president of the All Ceylon Canteen Owners Association Asela Sampath .


The number of Hotels and  Cafeterias that were  shut down due to the  shortage of Flour .Eggs and Fish represents one third of the All Hotels and Cafeterias located in the island he has stated .Even tens of thousands of self employed Cake and Bakery products makers had given up their profession due to the shortage and  price hike of Eggs and Wheat flour he ha stressed ,
