A group of Sri Lanka Freedom Party(SLFP) members including several ministers are planning to contest in the forthcoming parliamentary election separately out side the United Peoples Freedom Alliance(UPFA) and most probably with United National Party according to the Party Sources.
There are speculations that the said group belonging to the SLFP ,the largest party of UPFA will be contested in the forthcoming parliamentary election under the ticket of UNP or newly United National Front for good governance lead by Minister Patali Champika Ranawake.
If the said group belonging to SLFP has contesting separately as mentioned it will cause a split withing the party sources have said. The main reason behind this split is due to giving nomination for former president Mahinda Rajapakshe from UPFA it has been reported.
