Two Special UN Envoys To Visit Sri Lanka On 29th Of April
Two Special Envoys of United Nations(UN) are due to visit Sri Lanka from 29th of April to 07th of May according to Government Sources.The Two UN envoys ,special UN envoy on Independent Judiciary Monica Pinto and special envoy on violence Huan E Mendes are due to arrive in Sri Lanka according to an invitation made to them by Sri Lankan Government.
During their visit the two special UN envoys are due to meet top government officials and activists in various sectors and hold talks with them.
A 7 Year Old Girl Has Drowned In The Well Near Her House At Kayts
A 7 year old Girl has drowned in the well near her house at Naranthane in Kayts(In Northern Province) after accidentally falling into it according to the Police.The body of the deceased child has been sent to Kayts Hospital for a post mortum .
The Kayts Police are investigating on the incident.
Highest Ever Electricity Demand In Sri Lankan History Has Been Recorded On 25th Of April-Minister Of Power And Renewable Energy
Accordingly local electricity consumers have used nearly 2452.9 Mega Watt of electricity on that day Minister Siyambalapitiya has stated.
Due to the hot weather condition prevailing in the island at present, local electricity consumers had excessively used fans and air conditioners on that day the Minister has revealed.
Mannar Fraud Control Unit Had Recovered A Stock Of Indian Made Narcotic From A Forestry Area
The Police Officers attached to Fraud Control Unit in Mannar have today(27) recovered a stock of Indian made Narcotic "Hans" from a forestry area in J.R.S Village at Thalaimannar.(Northern Province) according to the Police Media Office.During the raid the Police Officers have recovered a stock of "Hans" narcotic weighing 26 Kilo Grammes and 400 Grammes .
No arrests have been made regarding the Incident and the Police have decided to inform the situation to Mannar Magistrate Court .
