Officials To Declare A Security Zone Arround The Landlside Prone Pahiyangala Cave Temple And Restricted Tourist Arrivals
Officials are considering to name the surrounding area of historical Pahiyangala Cave Temple in Bulathsinghale area ,Kalutara as a security zone and restricted the tourist arrivals to the Cave Temple due to the landslide threat in the area . The Cave Temple has been identified as a landslide prone area and as a result around 35 Buddhist monks resided there have been evacuated last week and moved them to another temple in the area.
Authorities have decided to prepare a special plan on protecting the historical Pahiyangala Cave Temple after receiving the full report of the National Building Research Organization and Geological Survey and Mining Bureau regarding the Cave Temple.
More Than Rs.5 Million Worth Goods Donated By A Group Of Private Companies To Flood Victims
An essential goods worth more than Rs.5 million
collected by a group of Private Companies have been handed over to the Health Minister Dr.Rajitha Senaratne to distribute among flood and landslide victims on last Saturday (10).

Sugar Importers Informed The Finance Ministry That There Will Be No Price Hike Of Imported Sugar
Sugar importers have informed that they will not
increase the retail price of imported white sugar despite the inrease of special commodity tax imposed on imported sugar according to the Ministry Of Finance.
Therefore it is illegal if the retail traders increase the price of imported white sugar more than the controlled price the Ministry has stated.
However already the price of plain tea and milk tea have increased as a result of the increase of imported white sugar price.

Visiting Japanese Technical Expert Team Handed Over A Report On How To Minimize Disasters During Adverse Weather
The 15 member Japanese Technical Expert team which
arrived in Sri Lanka to conduct a technical study regarding the adverse weather pattern affected to Sri Lanka has handed over it's report to the Minister of Disaster Management Anura Priyadarshana Yapa .
Through the report the Japanese Technical Experts have made many important proposals to minimize the disaster situations during adverse weather including the residents living in an area identified as a disaster prone area should be evacuated from their houses and re-settled in safe places and train people living in disaster prone areas how to evacuate from the areas themselves when a disaster strikes.

A Person Was Killed And His Wife Got Injured After Colliding With A Train
A 25 year old person was killed and his
wife had been critically injured and hospitalized after colliding with a train travelling from Jaffna to Matara last afternoon (11) at kahawa station in Ambalangoda.
The two faced this incident while trying to take a selfie at the rail track it has been reported.

A person had been injured and hospitalized after the
motor car he was driving in colliding with the "Samudra Devi" train travelling from Maradana to Galle near the train station in Northern Kalutara railway station today (12).
Due to the collision the engine of the Train too affected and as a result train made a sudden stop at Aluthgama railway station .The passangers of the train have been later boarded to a slow train travelling to Galle it has been reported.

Around 28 Injured Due To A Collision Of Four Vehicles
Around 28 persons including 02 school children were hospitalized this morning after four vehicles colliding with each other in Pitiwella,Ginthota area on Galle-Colombo main road .The injured were admitted to the Karapitiya Teaching Hospital.

NBRO Has Commenced A Research On A Cracks Appeared Of A Karapitiya Hospital Ward
The Engineers attached to the National Building Research Organization(NBRO) has commenced a research on the cracks appeared on a walls of a ward attached to the Karapitiya Teaching Hospital last night(11) according to the Director General Of Health Services Dr.Jayasundara Bandara.According to the result of a preliminary research done this morning(12) after being inspected the cracked walls of the ward the Engineers have informed the authorities no need to panic on the situation and there is no need to remove patients from the ward at the moment Dr.Bandara has stated.

A Pregnant Female Teacher And Her Three Year Old Daughter Received Minor Injuries After A Wild Elephant Falling Down To Their Car
A Pregnant female Teacher and her three year old daughter received minor injuries after a wild elephant falling down to the Motor Car driven by the female teacher in wee hours of this morning (12) in front of the Teak reserve at Moragoda.Thalawa area.The wild elephant was fallen down to the Motor Car after it colliding with the elephant and the Car was severely damaged due to the incident.The mother and her daughter have been trapped inside the Car for a while due to the incident and they were hospitalized after being rescued by the residents of the area.
The Pregnant female who driven the car is a teacher attached to the Galanawa Central Collage it has been revealed.
A 48 Hour Postal Strike To Be Commenced From Midnight Tonight
The Joint Postal Trade Unions Front is due to commence a 48 hour Island Wide strike from midnight tonight 12) by opposing the decision taken to use Post Office Buildings for a Tourist Hotel Project and demanding to solve administrative issues of the service.If the authorities fail to provide solutions for the demands of Postal workers a continuous strike will be launched from 26th of June onwards the Postal Trade Unions Front has stated.
