Health Ministry To Launch A Special Two Day Dengue Inspection Programme In Schools Island Wide From Tomorow(28)

Image result for dengue feverMinistry Of Health,Nutrition And Indigenous Medicine has decided to conduct a two day island wide special Dengue Inspection Programme in all Schools on Tomorrow(28) and the day after(29) in view of controlling the spreading of Dengue in schools.

Accordingly  Health Workers,Police and Tri Forces Personal will participate the two day Dengue Inspection programme in schools and will be given one month period for schools with Dengue mosquito breeding places to remove the breeding places.

If a School found as having Dengue Mosquito breeding places not able to remove those places withing one month period authorities will take a legal action against the Principal of the school the Health Ministry has announced.

Schools are among the  high risk areas which breeding  Dengue Mosquitoes  according to the Ministry.

From January this year up to now more than 34,000 Dengue Patients have been reported from the country with 65 deaths.

Government Has Decided To Form A New Defense Unit And Appoint Field Marshal Fonseka As The Head Of The Unit

Image result for field marshal fonsekaGovernment has decided to form a new Defense Unit which can be functioned with all Defense Units in the country including tri forces and appoint Minister ,Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka as head of the Unit.

President Maithripla Sirisena has submitted a proposal regarding the forming of a new Defense Unit and appointing Field Marshal Fonseka as the head of the Unit  to the Cabinet and  got approval it has been stated.

Former Army Commander Field Marshal Fonseka will be given responsibility on managing emergency situations in the country through the new post Government has announced.

Heavy Traffic Prevailed In And Around Technical Junction And Coombo Fort Last Night Due To A Student Protest

Related imageA heavy traffic prevailed in and around Technical Junction,Maradana and Colombo Fort last night(26)due to a Group of Medical and University Students staged a protest march during night by carrying torches against the Malabe Private Medical Collage(SAITM).

The Student protestors begun their protest march jointly organized by the Medical Faculty Students Action Committee and Inter University Students Federation near Colombo Medical Faculty around 7 p.m last night and marched towards Colombo Fort Railway station and held a protest campaign there.

Meanwhile three medical students involved in the protest march were injured and hospitalized last night during the march after a high speed Three Wheeler colliding with the students.The injured students were admitted to Colombo National Hospital.

Stock of fake toys illegally imported from China and India worth around Rs.4.5 million during a raid carriedout.

Chairman Of The Ceylon Electricity Board Has Resigned From.His Post

The Chairman of the Ceylon Electricity Board
(CEB)Anura Wijepala has today (26) resigned from his post with immediate effect.

The reason behind his resignation not yet been revealed and he had tendered his resignation to the Minister Of Power And Renewable Energy Ranjith Siyambalapitiya it has been reported .

Minister Siyambalapitiya has accepted the Chairman's resignation and appointed W.B Ganegala as the acting Chairman of Ceylon Electricity Board .

A 34 Year Old Female Had Been Severely Injured Due To A Wild Boar Attack In Meegahakivula

A 34 year old Female had been critically injured and
hospitalized due to a wild boar attack nearby a road in Meegahakivula,Kotalawatte today (26).

The injured female is currently receiving treatment in Badulla General Hospital.

She was attacked by the wild boar while staying in a road nearby her house.


Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka To Assume Duties As Army Commander Or Defense Chief

A request made by President Maithripala Sirisena to
the Minister and former Army Commander Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka to resign from the Ministerial Post and assume the duties  of Army  Commander or chief of all Defense Forces in the country has been accepted by him it has been revealed.

 Cabinet Spokesman Dr.Rajitha Senaratne has today (26) stated during the Cabinet Briefing that Peesident made this request from Field Marshal Fonseka during the Cabinet Meeting held yesterday (25) in view of controlling the escalation of protest campaigns in the country and to make discipline among the community.


Responding to the request made by president ,Field Marshal Fonseka has stated that he will assume the duties as Army Commander or as Defense chief only if the post is given with full powers.

President Appointed A Retired High Court Judge To Probe On Meethotamulle Garbage Collapse

President Maithripala Sirisrna has today (26)
appointed a retired High Court Judge Chandradasa Nanayakkare to probe on Meethotamulle Garbage Dump Collapse occurred on 14th of April.

President  has earlier stated that he will appoint a retired judge to probe on the Meethotamulle incident and take a legal action against those who found responsible for  through the investigation.
