Two Police officers a Constable and a female Police officer have been injured and hospitalized after colliding with a Three Wheeler pushed towards them due to the collision with a Motor car infront of the Vincent Diaz stadium in Badulla this noon(25)it has been reported.

The injured were admitted to the Badulla Hospital for treatment.

Badulla Police have arrested the Motor Car driver over the incident.

Army Corporal Was Injured Due To A Gun Shooting Incident

An Army Corporal was injured and hospitalized after a Group of an unidentified persons arrived in a Motorcycle and a Trishaw had shot him this morning (25) at Chakkindarama Road in Ratmalana.

The injured Corporal was admitted to the South Colombo (Kalubowila)ngs to a Army Lieutenant Colonel .

Mount Lavinia Police are investigating over the incident.

Four Persons Arrested Over The Killing Of A Leopard Have Been Remanded

The four persons arrested last night (24) over the brutal killing of a rare species of Leopard in Ambalkulam ,Kilinochchi last week have been remanded until 29th of June by the Kilinochchi Magistrate Court today (25).

The four suspects were remanded after being produced before the Kilinochchi Magistrate Court today.The suspects are residents of Ambalkulam and Dhrampuram villages.

Another two persons arrested over the killing of the Leopard have been remanded until 29th of June by the Magistrate yesterday (24).

A Female Was Killed Due To A Wild Elephant Attack

A 55 year old Female was killed due to a Wild Elephant attack at Raswehera area in Galgamuwa this morning (25) it has been reported.

The deceased had faced this incident while returning home after visiting a relatives house at Pothanegama in Galgamuwa area.

Several people lost their lives during past weeks due to Wild Elephant attacks as a result of the ongoing Human-Elephant conflict.

Police Raided An Illegal Cannabis Cultivation In Thanamalwila-A Person Was Arrested

Hambegamuwa Police have arrested a Person over marinating an Illegal Cannabis Cultivation of a half an acre land at Hambegamuwa ,Thanamalwila area yesterday(24).

The Illegal Cannabis Cultivation Land which raided by the Police have over 5000 Cannabis plants and the worth of the cultivation is more than Rs.5 million it has been revealed.

Police have destroyed the Cannabis Cultivation and the suspect who is a 51 year old resident of Hambegamuwa area is due to be produced before the Wellawaya Magistrate Court.

Former Defense Secretary Gotabaya Rajapakshe Had Given A Statement To The FCID Regarding An Allegation Leveled Aginst Him

The former Defense Secretary Gotabaya Rajapakshe had given a nearly three hour statement to the Police Financial Crimes Investigations Division (FCID) today over the allegations leveled against him on misusing of state funds to construct the D.A Rajapakshe Memorial Museum at Weeraketiya ,Tangalle in memory of his father during the previous regime.

The Former Defense Secretary has arrived at the FCID Headquarters in Colombo Fort around 9 a.m this morning and left the premises around 11.45 a.m after given the statement it has been revealed.

He had agreed to the Court Of Appeal on 14th of June to appear before the FCID To give a statement regarding the allegations leveled against him and to appear before the Colombo Magistrate Court whenever a notice issued against him.

The Court Of Appeal has recently issued an interim order preventing him of getting arrested and facing legal action under the Public properties Act over the charges.

Health Minister Proposed The Government To Cultivate Cannabis In 100 Acre Land For Medicinal Purposes

Minister Of Health ,Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine Dr.Rajitha Senaratne has proposed to the Government to cultivate Cannabis("Kansa") in 100 acre Land under the supervision of Tri forces for the use of manufacturing Ayurveda Medicine locally .

Minister Dr.Senaratne has already submitted a Cabinet Paper to the Cabinet to get approval for the cultivation of Cannabis in Sri Lanka for medicinal purpose only according to the Minister himself.

Addressing a Media Briefing held at the Waters Edge Hotel in Battaramulla this morning (25) regarding the activities of Sri Lanka Ayrveda Corporation ,Health Minister has stated that most recently Canada and Britain lifted the Ban imposed on Cannabis Cultivation in those countries."Cannabis is an essential ingredient to cure Neuro Illnesses and it only matters if someone use it to inhale as a narcotic.Britain banned the cultivating Cannabis here.Now the British have lifted the Ban in their country" Minister has said.

Through Cannabis Cultivation a Country can earn Billions of US Dollars as an income Minister has further said.
